Discussion Shield Hero Anime

Seems like they might have as well just done a slice of life reincarnation.
Manga for "living slow life in countryside after reincarnation" got me hooked.

 

I actually really like Shield Hero. It's not everyday when the MC gets trashed and everyone turns their back on the MC, but the MC still needs to be a hero. That just made his journey that much harder and unconventional. I honestly feel very sympathetic towards the MC.

 

I don't have exact numbers but it was very well received in Japan and good in other countries.

SAO doesn't count as isekai. They don't come to another world fully. Stuck in VRMMO is a genre in itself. In isekai Shield one of the oldest (older then Death March or Arifuretta at least). But it was mostly skipped in anime adaptation.

Unfortunately it was more for earlier volumes. Later ones are more generic isekai fantasy story. Still, MC is heavy and ruthless when it needs to be (executing enemies, using robbers for benefit) and with those copy-paste stories it's rather fresh.
