Can I get recommendations for novels similar to Transmigrator Meets Reincarnator? In the spoilers below I’ll write what I liked and didn’t like about the novel. It may not include everything as I’m a bit sleepy atm. However, there are two universal points that I’d like to make: 1-Don’t forgo recommending a gem of a novel just because it doesn’t fit the shoe perfectly. If you have a novel that’s basically TMR but in the future with androids I’ll try it. I’ll only know if I like it or not if I read it... with one exception. 2-No Netorare. I don’t like it, and I’ve even read a few novels with Netorare (including one that people kept praising as the must read Netorare novel) to see if it was just the writing but I can’t seem to like it. Spoiler: Preferences What I liked: -The food/cooking... I’m a foodie now. -The fluffy aspects of the relationship(s). Of course the MC and ML, but also some others that I won’t name. -The character growth. Namely the ML’s character growth, but also others like the MC. -The characters were human, they made mistakes, they learned, they didn’t just leave things behind and forget about them the moment it was irrelevant but also they didn’t remember everything that happened like they all had a perfect memory. -The overall pacing was great, with a few time-skips here and there. -The loose ends were not all tied together but the major plot points were covered, leaving us with both a proper conclusion and the ability to speculate about certain aspects and details. What I didn’t like: -Two words: Nourishing Soup... hell no. -How the ML was with their sexual relationship. Namely how pushy he was, to the point that I’d claim he’d raped her in a sense. -The end of the story’s pacing. It felt rushed and a bit bare-boned, but did deliver in the end. -The villain being a superhuman stalker in the sense that he can somehow sense when the MC is near and find her within seconds. Then when they cross paths by pure coincidence, he’s able to execute a plan that should be impossible unless he planned beforehand or has absolute authority in the country.
Well, Fields of Gold is a bit similar, with lots of food porn and rather realistic characters (also on Volare, so the quality of the translation is guaranteed). Also, Isekai Izakaya Nobu is a nice slice of life with great food and slow character growth.
It is modern romance, but i think you should definitely read Heartbeat at the tip of the Tongue if you haven't yet. There's mouthwatering food porn, character growth (iirc), and the ML although quirky and finicky in the beginning... on the romance part i consider him one of the best male leads out there, just hearing him talk makes my ears pregnant, and the way he is considered towards mc's feelings without forcing her or being imposing is a delicious characteristic that is way too lacking in c-novels. Im sure if you read it youll love it! Downside: there's no kitchen smut, that would have been the icing on the cake
I Seem Unsuited for Dating - a bickering couple that didn't fall in love right away, the ML is a chef and the the FL a foodie, so there you go (I have to pick it back to read)
Maybe you can try : - Kenkyo, Kenjitsu o Motto ni Ikite Orimasu (MC is a huge street foodie. You can see from the cover of this novel. The translator also love to give us foodporn. but it's Japanese Novel thou) - Coming of the Villain Boss ( Mc is a huge foodie. She care about her food more than her task and even more than her male lead ) - Adorable Food Goddess (FMC want to have a restaurant is this ancient world. It adapted into drama, but I still prefer the novel) - My Master Disconnected Yet Again (This girl is also quite a foodie. She kept male lead just because he can clean, and cook well) Hope it suit your taste ^_^
