It has some interesting novels, however doesn't completely fit what was requested. The left ones are either mentioned above, or have a wannabe suitable for 'modifier' character such as in 'Protagonist Knows Everything' - read Greater thunder's review for details, leftover novels are good though ). That is quite debatable, contrary to popular belief, one can be smart not just academics such as math, literature or science, but also in blacksmithing (creation and design creation of swords for example, during the medieval ages) for example or even carpentry. "having or showing a quick-witted intelligence" is the official definition thus it means that being smart doesn't necessarily mean being academically savvy. A smart main character doesn't necessarily wear glasses and act as an 8th grader.
