Welcome, respected being, to the Spiritual Beast Pagoda. I hear it is your first time here? Fear not! I, your humble guide, shall give you a thorough explanation of our methods of operation. Please, come this way.

The Spiritual Beast Pagoda was established over a century ago and still remains the center of the art of spiritual beast mastery today. Our school fosters the principles of perseverance, loyalty, and respect to oneself and others.


Pagoda Lab

Here to your left is the Pagoda Lab, where spiritual beasts are artificially fertilized to create spiritual beast eggs. The Pagoda Lab is also responsible for moderating genetic information to improve and enhance spiritual beast lineages and enable beast-masters to customize their own spiritual beasts.

Before you begin training or engage your spiritual beast in battles, you must first own a spiritual beast. You can either purchase a spiritual beast egg directly from the Pagoda Lab or put in an order to customize your own spiritual beast.

If you wish to directly buy a spiritual beast egg, simply type the command !buy <ID of your chosen spiritual beast breed>.

If you wish to customize your spiritual beast, please copy and paste the [Customization Form] in the spoiler below and fill in the required details. An example of a completed [Customization Form] can be found in the following posts.

For either option, you may have to wait for a couple of days for the lab to process and generate your spiritual beast egg. Once it is ready, you will be notified so that you can pick your egg up and also receive a [Spiritual Beast Egg Card].

Incubation Room

Next, we arrive at the Incubation Room. After acquiring your spiritual beast egg, you must hatch it. To do so, you must incubate the egg 3 times a day for 3 days (that’s 9 incubation sessions in total). If you miss a day, or you’ve only incubated your egg 1 or 2 times, your spiritual beast egg will die and you will have to restart by purchasing another spiritual beast egg from the lab.

Incubation is the only action available to you at this stage of your spiritual beast’s development. To incubate your spiritual beast egg, simply replace the word “None” next to the action label with “Incubate”.

A notice will be sent out once your spiritual beast hatches after the 3-day incubation period is over. Again, there might be some delay in this process since each spiritual beast is unique so please be patient.


Spiritual Beast Kitchen

Now to your right is the Spiritual Beast Kitchen. You can use the self-serve kiosks to order nutritionally balanced meals specifically designed for spiritual beast consumption, or you can just feed your spiritual beast with the default spiritual beast food.

Your spiritual beast will need to be fed once it has hatched. You can choose to feed it until it is completely or partly full, but please keep in mind that your spiritual beast’s fullness will decrease by 1 every day so if you have not fed your spiritual beast for 5 consecutive days, it will die.

To feed your spiritual beast, simply replace the word “None” next to the action label with “Feed”.


Training Hall

Now we've come to the Training Hall. You can gain experience and levels by training your spiritual beast. Training your spiritual beast will increase its stats and make it more likely to win in battles against other spiritual beasts.

You may choose to train either attack, defense, speed, or power. All are equally important so there is no reason why training one would be more advantageous than training another. How you decide to train your spiritual beast is up to you, but it is wise to keep the battle conditions for victory in mind while training.

To train your spiritual beast, simply replace the word “None” next to the action label with “Train” and then one of either “Attack”, “Defense”, “Speed”, or “Power”.

Battle Arena

Spiritual beasts can battle each other here in the Battle Arena. Battling is a quick way to gain experience and levels. To battle with someone, simply replace the “None” next to the action label with “Battle @User” (you have to tag whoever you want to battle with). The other person can choose to either attack, defend, evade, or use their spiritual power to overwhelm the other. The battle challenge times out after 24 hours have passed.

Whichever option they choose, the stats of the two spiritual beasts will be compared based on that particular stat and the spiritual beast with the higher stat will generally be the winner. If both stats are equal, the spiritual beast with the highest level wins. If the levels are also equal, the spiritual beast with the higher experience or overall stats wins.


Medical Clinic

This is the spiritual beasts' Medical Clinic. Spiritual beasts can get hurt in battles so make sure to send them to the Medical Clinic afterwards. This state of the art clinic contains lots of energy crystals that will help speed up the healing process. Your spiritual beast will be returned to you in full health after an hour. To send your spiritual beast to the Medical Clinic, simply replace the "None" next to the action label with "Heal"

Please only check out your spiritual beast from the medical clinic after one hour has passed. If your spiritual beast leaves the clinic before then, its health bar will not be full and you will need to place it in the clinic for another hour to restore its full health. To check your spiritual beast out from the medical clinic, simply replace the "None" next to the action label with "End Heal".


Spiritual Beast Card
Your [Spiritual Beast Card] is very important for interacting with your spiritual beast. You can use the card to perform a variety of actions including feeding, training, battling, and healing to enable your spiritual beast to remain in good health and grow.

The spiritual beast card also displays all of your spiritual beast’s stats so that you know which action to take to best take care of your spiritual beast. The following is a short guide on what each heading represents and how it functions.

Name
Naming your spiritual beast is one of the easiest ways to connect with it increase your bond.

Level
The level of your spiritual beast will increase as it gains experience.

Age
Your spiritual beast’s age is measured in days. Your spiritual beast is one day older once it is 00:00AM in UTC time.

Life
The life of your spiritual beast will decrease by 5 after every battle, regardless of outcome.

Happiness
Your spiritual beast’s happiness will increase if you feed it specialized spiritual beast meals or pet it. Happiness is reset to 0 every day at 00:00AM in UTC time.

Fullness
Make sure to remember to feed your spiritual beast. Your spiritual beast’s fullness will decrease by 1 every day at 00:00AM in UTC time. Once it reaches 0, your spiritual beast will die.

Experience
Experience can be gained through training and battling. Each train increases experience by 5, each battle increases experience by 15 for the winner and 10 for the loser.

Attack
How much damage your spiritual beast can deal in battle. Increases by 5 for every train.

Defense
How much damage your spiritual beast can withstand in battle. Increases by 5 for every train.

Speed
How fast your spiritual beast can evade or launch attacks in battle. Increases by 5 for every train.

Power
The strength of your spiritual beast’s spiritual power. Increases by 5 for every train.

Attributes
Brief description of your spiritual beast’s characteristics or personality (2-3 sentences).

Action
Actions include Feed, Train, Battle, Heal, and Pet.

Spoiler: Actions

Feeding increases fullness by 1. Feeding a special, customized meal to your spiritual beast also increases happiness by 2. Fullness decreases by 1 every day.

Training your spiritual beast increases the attribute you’re training for by 5, and increases experience by 5.

Battling increases the experience of the winner by 15 and increases the experience of the loser by 10. Winning depends on the stat that the spiritual beasts are battling with (i.e. whoever has the higher stat wins). Both sides lose 5 life after each battle.

Healing sends your spiritual beast to the medical clinic. Healing your spiritual beast after a battle restores its health to full.

Petting your spiritual beast increases its happiness by 2. Happiness is reset to 0 every day.

Currency
You can gain currency by feeding and petting the Spiritual Beast Pagoda’s resident spiritual beast, Nomunomu. Each feeding earns you 5 spirit stones and each petting also earns you 5 spiritual stones.

You will need spiritual stones in order to purchase a spiritual beast egg (they cost 10 spiritual stones) and also to buy specialized meals for your spiritual beast (they cost 2 spiritual stones).

Everything else in Spiritual Beast Pagoda is available to you free of charge.


Rules

1. Please be respectful and considerate to yourself and others at all times
2. Each person can only have one spiritual beast at a time
3. Humanoid spiritual beasts are permitted but not looked upon favorably
4. You may not lewd your own or anyone else's spiritual beast
5. Please quote your last post to make tracking stats easier
6. You may only complete one action per post
7. Please do not spam train - you may train each of your spiritual beast's four stats ONCE (or one stat four times or any combination thereof) as consecutive posts (i.e. you cannot continue training after you've trained 4 times if no one else has posted in the thread in between your trains)
8. If a mistake is made regarding how much your spiritual beast’s stats increase, your spiritual beast’s stats will be adjusted to the correct values
9. If you are asked to change your stats because they have been added incorrectly, please be respectful (even if you disagree)
10. If you disagree about a correction that was made, please politely explain why and be prepared to provide evidence if necessary
11. If you find someone else has made a mistake, please notify them with a quote of the relevant parts of this post
12. You may create a character for this thread, act as a preexisting character you’ve made, or you may act as yourself but please keep in mind that you are secondary to your spiritual beast in this thread (i.e. please focus mostly on your spiritual beast)
13. World-building is not encouraged, nor is inventing new laws and/or forcing others to abide by them
