Discussion Starcraft 2 gone free to play after 7 years

    What are free: unlimited multiplayer (ranked match will be unlocked after getting 10 "first win of the day" from playing against AI or unranked PVP)

    Wing of liberty full campaign (those who bought WOL will get Heart of the swarm for free)

    Coop mode will give all heroes to play but can only get to lvl5 with the exception of the 3 main heroes of the game

    Players who bought the game year ago (full) get a special ghost skin and an avatar or sth

    It started since 14/November so come and play and discover how shitty or awesome you against other (THE KOREANS!!!)

    In the 7 years I've had it I have probably played less than 100 Ranked/Unranked games. Always played Arcade

    You can't beat the Koreans in games, not with all those do-over foreknowledge cheats they have :facepalm:

    I did beat a few Koreans in unranked. Only those ranked are good. Most unranked are your avg joe

    I bought it when it came out, played it for about a year. Was fun but I was disappointed in it to be honest. I liked starcraft 1 more.
    Honestly, I haven't touched any of blizzards stuff since. they did quite a few things that irritated me and also 1 rather big issue that happened not to me but a friend (Basically rendering him unable to play any games for several months before they got around to fixing it for him)

    I just play the game for the co-op mission and it's a pretty good way to relax for me personally.

    Honestly anyone that wanted to play Starcraft II has already played it. Let's be honest: it's not some obscure title and it also isn't super expensive or anything. It's also one of the hands down best RTS games you can possibly play, end of story. All of this means that anyone with an interest in a game like this has already played it. If they couldn't afford it, by now they've pirated it anyway, pfft.

    Secondly, stuff like co-op and non-ranked multiplayer was already free to play to begin with. In that regard, all they've actually done is make the ranked multiplayer and optional co-op commander microtransactions something you can also do and get for free. Sure, that's great? But calling it some big change is a little... I mean, it's not going to make anyone play that wasn't already playing, lol.

    The only decent bit of news here is the Wings of Liberty campaign being free and at best that's a bit late.

    Co-op was only free to play with first 3 commanders, or commanders based on which expansion you had. Arcade was always free though and arcade and co-op are the best 2 parts of the game.
