Just curious..
Do the translators who can get donations, etc translate the novels word to word or do they use mtl or something? Do they also have the author’s permission then? Do the donations go to the author too then?

 

Some translate word for word, some use mtl as a start and then fix it up.
I highly doubt any translator shares donations with the author. Only official English publishers do that.
I think Wuxiaworld in the past said that for them half goes to the translator (who usaully splits it with the editors), half goes to Qidian and they give half of it to the author. Or something like that.
