So I'm watching Level E, and loving it. Why? Not just because its got a serious Space Dandy Vibe while having its own kind of funny charm, but because the main MC of the story, often ALSO acts as its Antagonist. A lot of the situations that go on, as simply because the MC Is bored and is just a straight up Troll who likes to mess with people for the Lols. Its Great. Does anyone know of any other Stories similar to this? I'm not talking about Villainous MC nessisarly, but rather one where the "Antagonist", the person driving the plot and moving people to action, is the MC themselves. Preferably I want it to have a Comedic effect. I'm NOT Looking for some Grim-Dark Tragidy with some evil edgelord. Just rather something like Level E, where the MC is just a Troll doing his thing for laughs and making the "Hero" facepalm. The only ones I can think of that actually pull this off are Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich and Vaudevillain. Examples Level E. Vaudevillain Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich NOTES: 1): Decent Length (100+chapters or 2-3 Volumes, depending on chapter length), and/OR being actively translated (Has been updated in the last 1 - 2 months). I.E. I don't want something with 10-15 chapters that's not been updated since August 2016, but something with 5-10 chapters that's been update Mid Nov/Dec (or even the start) is perfectly fine. 2): No Hentai/Smut. Adult themes/Scenes are fine, but no blatant smut (I.E. a bedroom scene just for the sake of smut). 3): Harem tag is fine, but No Polygamy. 4): No BL/GL.
Something like the infamous Doronbo Gang of Yatterman series, Lupin the 3rd and/or Will E. Coyote, I presume? If so, then maybe stuff like the following novels/mangas and/or animes: Youjo Senki, Black Lagoon & Jormungand for some dark comedies Coyote Ragtime Show Gangsta Moriarty the Patriot Golgo 13 (if you're looking for comedy, then avoid this) D.N.Angel Kaitou St. Tail Magic Kaito Cat's Eye Akudama Drives Romics (European comics), though some are probably not translated to ENG: Lucky Luke (some of the stories are centered not on the MC, but to The Dalton, the infamous recurring bandit brothers of the series) Iznogoud OR, perhaps one of those villainess noble girl novels: Bakarina Lv 99 Villainess Slow Prison Life (+) Kenkyo, Kenjitsu o Motto ni Ikite Orimasu
I like those kind too. It's a 'wow look at this bastard' sort of feeling, but in a fond way. You can't seem to hate the character and like them instead. Ones that have given me a similar feeling have already been mentioned: Legend of the Sun Knight Crazy Lich Running from the Hero Other than that I just keep remembering comedy, but it's not the same kind.
