Have you ever played an RPG and essentially spammed the summons to kill every monster and boss? Do you remember that one boss in the game that essentially shut you down? Share your experiences. Bonus points if you basically were super under leveled because the summons killed everything up until that point and little to almost no grinding was in your gameplay. Personally I remember Seymour(during the mountains) from FFX and Archeoaevis from FFV to be particularly notable. Summons were so amazing to look at, which is why I kept doing it.
Doesn't really count, but the moment you lost the use of your shadow in Blue Dragon, your entire party became as strong as wet cardboard. The overlimit abilities would be closer to actual summons though... And those actually healed some bosses.
Summons is so amazing I somehow play FFX with all character at level 1 (that was my first time playing RPG that doesn't have simple stats system) till I got stuck at the sky worm over bevelle cause I don't have summons. I think I might stay oblivious like that till I beat the game if Yuna doesn't got capture and I have Yojimbo. I also Zanmoto Penance to death later in the game.
I spammed summons in FFX during that boss who can one hit the eidolon and zombify you and also not really on point but I spammed dead branch and bloody branch on ragnarok on a specific area cause there was too many bots and people going afk
Not necessarily about summon. But I have this experience in ff xii where all of the essential characters (the only high level) died and I lost the mean to revive them... Game over... Suikoden 4 where I stupidly killed one of the characters in my team when boarding another ship. They died, not literally but they can't be used in any battle anymore.
And here I am, thinking this thread was created for the sake of summoning spammers in nuf. Don't you agree, @Westeller ?
I played Dablo2 as summon Necro. Lot of skeletons and golems. Then I met boss in Act2 who oneshot all my summons and I got stuck with no way further. So I rerolled as Berserker
Path of exile, with the witch and full zombies and skeletons, it worked until act 4 on merciless, when the bosses kill me when they sneeze in my general direction and my minions are too brainless to properly fight
considering I'm playing ff8 now. this game is summoned spammer and magics grinder. ive been playing 6 hour to farm magic from common enemy, 6 hr to spam my summons to fight a t-rex to level up them, and the best part is no mana required. now I'm pretty bored playing the game.
I adore summoners in any game I play, but really the only one that did it right for me is Diablo II's Necromancer class.
Is Eve ( Code: Empress) in Elsword count? Because i spam summon, and let them do their work while staying behind tanker(s) and long-range hit them. Don't wanna burn any of those mana pot, though.
