So I just caught up to the latest (c. 210) chapter of Superstars of Tomorrow and got left on a cliff hanger. Kind of want to see some thoughts on it. Brief description: A composer named Fang Zhao ends up passing away in the apocalypse and ends up waking up in the body of a young, up-and-coming, college aged composer(with the same name) 500 years into the future. This novel focuses on the MC's adjustment to the new era and his desire to pursue his career. His past and experience in the apocalypse plays a pretty large role in the novel. What I think: I really enjoy these types of novel. What supports the story(for me), is the MC. His personality is not a copy and paste of the calm, typical protagonist. His personality reflects his age and experience. Spoiler: Old man In my opinion, the scene that reflected this the most, was when he met his female cousin. When he played a trick on her with the candy, I had an image of an old man. The plot line is quite interesting, as I haven't read a novel where the protagonist left the apocalypse timeline/era?. Chapter 196 naming? For the mineral, he's probably gonna name it after himself or one of his comrades
Yah. Honestly, each chapter feels like a cliff at the end. I really enjoy reading discussions about these type of things, and this novel didn't have a LCD, so....thoughts?
Well good job making one, also you should probably add a NU link and a short description of it, some people viewing it for the first time might like it
TBH this is pretty good but there isn't a plot..it's just how the emotionless old man reincarnated into a teen survives in the new world...
So is this a LCD for the premium chapters or the free ones? I don't want to spoil anyone who doesn't have an account.
@BeetleBarker I was just reading Chapter 228, and "warmth" really stuck out as odd to me, so I took a look at the raws. 溫和 has more of a "mild" meaning rather than "warmth," which would instead be written as 温暖. The 和 in 溫和 is actually the same 和 for 和平, or peace.
Novel is chill. It's just an old man, getting a second chance. The apocalypse he experienced forms the foundation of who he currently is, and in a lot of ways the story is about his post traumatic rehabilitation. From composing orchestral pieces, exploring the now-peaceful world, or venting his aggression in video games, it's all a form of therapy. Don't expect face slapping, or backstabbing nastiness at every turn. The MC is a veteran of nearly a hundred years of war. He's seen humanity at its worst and he's not one to dick around or play games at all. He just wants to explore the new world and write music.
溫和 is a mild, kinda pleasing warmth. Like lukewarm, I can't really think of any other better word to describe it though
Thank you for replying 溫和 isn't physical "warmth," as in temperature. Rather, it is a tenderness, gentleness, or mildness. For example, 今天的天气很温和 does not mean that today's weather is warm, but that today's temperature is very nice, neither too hot nor too cold. Some other examples from Of course, as the translator, you have the final say. Perhaps the connotation of "warmth" is too strong for me only; it might not be an issue for anyone else.
