Hey guys, I just found the manga of TDG and wanted to know if there is, if yeas what are, the difference between the manga and the novel. Thanks I'm probably won't read because I thought he was either a sc*mbag or really stupid because he get the chance to save humanity but don't teach how everyone can better cultivate to fight the demons, just his few friends as he uses his previous knowledge almost only to his own benefits. But still, there's hope that it's only the manga oversimplifying the story line.
The manhua is not really different from the novel. And the reason why he did that is implicitly mentioned later in the novel.
He does help quite a few people and greatly improves the city*. The manga oversimplifies it because they don't have the space to include all that. He wants to help more but he won't go completely out of his way to help if it does not benefit him. His main goal is to beat the Sage Emperor and he has a very limited amount of time to beat him so he does not want to waste time acting like a saint. In the novel it mentions him helping a few times. Spoiler Giving the Alchemy Association more pills .He improves the cultivation techniques of the whole school. Invited new experts to the city. Destroys the sacred family so they cannot betray the city, provides food to the mountain city (no idea what it is called), saving a slave, destroying another douche family, etc.
Aye. He helps out a ton. Spoiler: Why/How Although he doesn't immediately go back and start teaching everyone in the city everything they need to know, you have to remember that there are traitors in the city. They didn't all die in his past life just because a few demons attacked, it was a conspiracy. He can't just make everyone stronger across the board. Instead he put together a team to work with him. He focused on people he knew he could trust. His friends, and those that had died defending the city in the past. He improved the defenses of the city lord's mansion. He introduced new ways to fight demons beyond just meeting them in hand-to-hand combat. Made it more of a siege. He introduced new alchemy recipes. He brought back new people to the city, and gained support from others that he didn't bring back. ... and yes. He has ultimate goals beyond just the city.
