ML (Hydrangea) has Elf ancestry and has always been hounded by women wanting to marry him for his status and beauty, some going as far as to drug his tea. This caused him to develop a strong aversion towards women. He also happens to be ardent cat lover and desperately wants to pet/adopt cats. However, despite his attempts to rescue kittens and feed stray cats, they always flee at the sight of him because of the magic he emits. Spoiler: MTL excerpt - ML's tragic unrequited cat love Hydrangea silently removed his gloves and quietly approached the cat. He read in a book that cats have fluffy fur. Also, they felt very nice to touch. He had never touched one before, but the opportunity was finally coming. Just a little more, just a little more, just when he was about to touch it── "Meow~~~~~!!" The cat screamed when it noticed the existence of Hydrangea and scratched the back of his hand with all its might. "Ow!" And ran away at once. What remained on his hand was not the feel of a fluffy cat, but claw marks and blood. A cold wind blew. It sounded like a retort from the spirit of the wind telling Hydrangea to give up on cats. Oh, the tragedy! Such a cruel fate for a devoted cat lover... Meanwhile, FL (Violette) suffers from a mysterious curse which causes her to transform into a cat whenever she touches a man, even family members. While FL and ML don't get along well initially, ML is utterly besotted with her cat form, particularly as FL does not experience the typical cat aversion to his magic powers. So ML is ecstatic to finally be able to pet a cat. Spoiler: MTL excerpt - The first time ML picked up FL in her cat form "Light as a feather, and extremely fluffy...!" The cat he picked up for the first time had soft fur, a warm body temperature, and a pleasant smell. It was the best. After all, cats were the best creatures. He placed his hand on his chest and savored the happiness of holding a cat. He wanted to write a poem about the excitement he felt when he held the cat in his arms and put it in a book, but today he was summoned by the King. FL decides she doesn't want to marry ML, which he sidesteps by putting her paw print as a signature on the marriage certificate. When ML introduces his new wife to the Prince, FL refuses to speak and pretends to be a regular cat so ML would look like a crazy person who married a cat. She does eventually realize ML isn't as bad as she previously thought, and ML also finds himself wanting to pet her even when she isn't a cat. I'm only halfway through the story, but now I'm somewhat concerned what will happen if the curse is lifted — poor ML loves FL's cat form so much, it would surely be a devastating loss to him if he cannot pet a cat anymore.
