umm, if no proof then we'd probably remove it.

I was trying to parallel the logic of what we are arguing about. Obviously you dont do business whith child slavers i was using an extreme example to point out what I believe to be the flaws in your reasoning.

A lack of evidence of it being Chinese is not in and of itself evidence of it being anything else.

I find extreme examples are good at making people think about what they are saying and he was the one who brought up child labor and nike so i used that in my response.

I think this thread has gone sufficiently off-topic and I don't think there's really any more discussion that can be or should be had. Locking the thread seems appropriate to me.

I feel that if there's not even a tiny scrap of proof, then it shouldn't be on NU.
Otherwise, any EN author can easily claim their new work is actually a foreign novel they translated. And that would make the NU rule forbidding EN original works meaningless if those works can simply slip in through a backdoor like that.

Thats a fair point i suppose but for me if i have a thing for authentic Chinese food and i go around eating a bunch of chinese food cooked by Chinese people for like 2 years and then along comes some Swedish dude who makes chinese food thats indistinguishable from all that other food i had been eating im not gonna give a crap that he is swedish but thats just me.

why does that Conspiracy guy keep demanding TEO to be remove? like he hurt or something? Maybe your original novel also get remove by mod or something?
Mod already aware about it. there no need for you or anyone else to be so persistence for it to be remove.
I too wait for mod which im sure he/she asking TEO translator about this 'conspiracy'

I'm rather intrigued about this all. Although, if its an original, then there really is an issue of moral here.

    What could be done:
    - Ask the translator for some elements to clarify the issue
    - specify a deadline or he will just ignore the whole thing

If he chooses not to reply, or if he can't give satisfying answer, the novel should be removed from NU

Lie or not, good or not, it's really not the subject.

I just read the prologue and skimmed a bit through the first chapter...
I've read quite a few things translated from Chinese and watched all kind of medias(ok, mostly wuxia series or period dramas) and this novel/story/whatever, in my eyes seems(?) more like someone was a bit of a tryhard in making it look as Chinese or Xuanhuan-like as possible so far.(just an opinion, speculation, nothing more)
I don't really care about all this drama nor do I have an opinion on it. If there's a proof needed, someone should just question the translator or something, if he doesn't state anything you can just take it as you want.
I think this matter shouldn't have become a problem from the beginning so a suggestion from me for preventing this would be that in the future, before approving an added series, the mods/admins/slav-*cough* *gets struck by lightning* *cough* (I'm somehow miraculously ok) could ask for the proof, details and more about a novel.

As for proof, I'm not sure. I don't really know what qualifies as proof either in this case. The translator for example could provide some kind of proof, like at least a photo of the raws or something if they're on paper...
You ask through the translator's website, often times they leave an e-mail or have a contact form... but through comments is also fine I suppose.

so to make sure something is not an original (btw this is like the first time this has happened to NU, I think), we should contact the translator, and wait for a response? new series are added all the time. doing it that way would be tedious. The odds of someone making a page for an original, and saying that it is an actual CN, are very, very low. I think the current way is fine.

    After reading this...
Ummm..... Then I could claim that my original works is a translated novel right?
Man... time to make a syosetsu account, create a synopsis and put my story to google translate and then put it in ncode, and then I could claim it as "translation" from Japan version.......
