Eh, given Lan Wangji was willing to stand with Jin Zixuan against Wen Chao and protect Mianmian, I think he was more impressed by Wei Wuxian's willingness to put himself on the line. Perhaps with a bit of "Useless idiot, why couldn't you have escaped a bit faster so they couldn't have branded you???" thrown at Mianmian, and concern for Wei Wuxian thrown in. (Maybe even heartened by how Wei Wuxian was leaning on Jiang Cheng, rather than fawning over Mianmian?)

It's actually arguable whether Lan Wangji already had a crush on Wei Wuxian before this (I'd say yes, based on the whole crooked forehead ribbon whose ends brush against Wei Wuxian's face incident, but one could argue it wasn't a proper crush-crush), but after this ... Lan Wangji's heart was claimed. Wei Wuxian has just demonstrated that he's good and cunning if need be (getting Wen Chao out of Wen Zhuliu's range of protection) and one big damn hero who's willing to get grievously injured (getting branded in Mianmian's stead) or even killed (distracting the monster with the fires while Jiang Cheng got them out) so others could live, and then went and personally saved Lan Wangji from the maw of the monster. I am 0% surprised Lan Wangji'd get it bad after this.

 

My gosh, respects to Madam Yu! She's so badass I loved how she disciplined that vicious Wang LingJiao!! She sure showed who's boss at the Yunmeng Jiang Sect

I have a new respect for Madame Yu, she takes shit from no one!!! I was kinda upset that she punished Wei Ying the way she did, even though I know the logical reason for it, but that slap just made me forget all about it.

 

Same, at first I thought it was too much of her to take advantage of the situation to punish WWX even if she hates him.

 

Does anyone know how long is the anime? I mean, how many episodes? I'm waiting for it to end to binge it. Yep, it's probably the wrong thread, but whatever~

Latest chapter is so frustrating and depressing to read when you know how it will all end up. It's like watching a horrific car crash in slow motion and you can't do anything about it. People who you expect to help didn't (Wen Qing and Wen Ning helped you, Jiang Cheng wtf why didn't you defend them?? I know you hate the Wen dogs but maaan... I also expected Xichen to be the voice of reason but I guess I was expecting too much) and people who tried to help was overwhelmed by the majority (Didn't expect to see MianMian here. I thought she died. Also, Lan Zhan, I know the convo is so painful to hear but you should have continued to defend Wei Wuxian and didn't exit early) *sigh*

 

Everybody ganging up on Wei Ying both in the past and in the present is frustrating. Mob mentality.

 

At least his hubby is by his side this time around

 

Lan Zhan must have really blamed himself all these years for being unable to save him the last time.
