It is because you haven't read the WN. In web novel, the author explains almost everything you complain in the first post.

 

Have you ever seen a bunch of those terrible Chinese martial arts movies from the 70s and 80s. Some guy ascending a mountain fighting vs traps and teachers to join a sect, some son of a god going to different shrines defeating greedy gods that demand to much offerings from peasant... That's what they are coping, and those old movies copied legends and lore.
There is nothing new under the sun.

 

Glory is like Dragon Nest, a MMORPG. That's why I like the novel/manga/anime cause I used to play DN. XD

And to each its own. If you don't like it then don't, don't watch it, no need to rant. And it's different from SAO and Log Horizon, idk why they compared it to TKA. They just have game elements.

ragnarok has cooldown only its not obivous to the player
there was a time when ragnarok does not have cool down and guess what people cheated
it is a combination of keyboard macro an packet manipulation. the result 500 "double strife" per second archers and other classes with spammable skills are one shoting bosses.

glory is an e-sport a critical flaw like that should not exist in game

 

That's why I prefer the novel and manhua than the anime cause they cut a lot of scenes =.=

 

Even in wow, you don't always need to auto attack.
And fighting scene in novel, Lord Grim usually use chain of skills, combos.
and even in wow , there is a thing call global cool-down, and it is pretty short, like 1s.
You can chain stun if you have enough stun and knock-back skill.

 

From reading the novel it can be inferred that every skill in the game has it's own set of minigame / OSU! type of input requirement which you need to complete within a certain period of time with certain timings and so on. And there's some wiggleroom so depending on how they player do it the result can be different. And then there's other factors like most skills have different variations if the player is in the Air or in water. So you can make mini-jumps and get a whole new effect.

And that's not taking into account countless other factors as well.

There's some similarities which you can see in existing games, e.g. S4 League which I've played quite a bit in the past.

dude I played S4 league before it doesnt have that shit, you point your gun, press left click, then bullets come out

also even if his gaming jesus powers can be explained away by apm it is not illustrated in the anime.
the motherfucker is flying every where I didnt see him playing dance dance revolution every sword swing.

Those guys call Ye Xiu as "Grim", don't know why but this makes me annoyed. Was it some Japanese thing they did in the anime? Don't really like the idea of Japanese doing animations of CN novels, as what makes CN novels popular is the way they are, and not the misrepresented version the JP will do.

I wasn't that anxious to watch this, as I already thought at the time it wouldn't be good (doubted that it would be similar to the novel, and well, I could already foresee that it would be done the JP ("popular" anime) way. Ye Xiu having a harem? Lol.). But was still planning to watch later, it seems the experience will be a little more like a torture than I thought.

 

I meant in that you can get different effects from how you use things in combinations or just abuse bugs, like in Gunz.

If S4 League was glory why would I be talking about OSU minigames?

And, I haven't seen the anime, but I'm assuming that TKA is being advertised as the Chinese SAO anyway and they probably just didn't care to illustrate it, or actually it might happen later. I'm not sure if you actually get to see the player interface or the "ingame" spectator kind of view?

Since after all, the game is supposed to be First person, so what you would see would be quite different from a 3rd person perspective 3D without any user interface or anything.

Maybe later they'll show the first person perspective, if they haven't already, or how they play the game IRL with the mouse & keyboard. At least in the novel there's quite a bit of explaining going on as the MC show & teach others to play, especially later when there's some precision practice going on & they compete who can hit what spot on the monsters the fastest or whatever.

 

its an entirely Chinese production, that looks like an anime, but it also has live action back grounds and McDonalds for some reaosn

I get what you are saying, but minute changes is attack patterns will not save you when an entire team of pros are trying to PK you
you can engage 2~3 players at a time but their buddies will be shooting you in the ass from your blind spot

also I saw the computer screen and it looks like an FPS with swords like skyrim or fantasy COD not like S4 league or Dragon nest
