according to my memory, their parents are actually decent and in good relationship with each other and daughters. they never made force MC to work harder just because she is the prince fiancee (MC work hard with her own volition).

when MC come clean about her plan, they felt guilty (especially her mother since unlike the duke who busy, the duchess spend more time with her daughters but she didnt even notice MC problem) but also disappointed because MC decide something so extreme without confiding or consulting anything to them (because it may cause some bad rumours for both MC and helios on why they suddenly break the engagement). the duke is really sad too because if MC got accepted as special mage, she need to get out of the duke family (this is also one of her plan, since she is no longer one of duke family she can recommend marietta to be the queen)

the duke also disappointed with helios, mashros, reese and marietta since they actually talk about something controversial on public space even if they didnt mean it (granted not many people can access the room, but some people still can easily eave drop) and propose that these four children to be re-educated after this shit show ends.

 

This is another one that gets crazier as it goes on. Helios likes the MC and is going yo wind up marrying the annoying sister. He loses. The sister is going to wind up in a position she can't handle in a marriage with a husband that resents her and a ,other in law that will hate her, she loses. The MC has to estrange herself from her family WHY? Is separating herself from the man who loves her because a moron with the hots for her likes to wag his tongue?

This is AAA grade insanity.

I'm really hoping that Viol is the ML. The book seems to be pointing that way as there have been mentions of FL's heart beating faster around him. Helios had his chance and blew it.
