I dont get it what do you mean.. MC describe her as someone kind. But i think there is something about her. OG FL has a very fragrant perfume (which is from unknown flower and someone alrdy said that emperor has ulterior motive bcs of a flower), maybe thats why in the novel emperor fall for OG FL. But it is still my assumption.

I've been MTLing this novel and it is pretty amusing so far. I'm only up to chapter 15. There's about 153 chapters for main story with a few side stories KaKaoPage (https://page.kakao.com/home?seriesId=51824917).

Spoiler: Spoiler on the ML, FL, and Heroine

ML = I'm pretty sure is the so called "Servant" who is revealed to be Emperor Marquez of Harron (Silver hair red eyes). He's known to others as "called the god of war, the blood-mad emperor".

FL = Lydia Odette is the 30th actual concubine who is reincarnated into a book called "Toward the Star" and currently she doesn't know Marquez is the emperor and she gave him the nickname "Marr" and likes to pet the Marr's hair like a "puppy"

Heroine of the original novel = The heroine of the book is Yurishina Ferilland from the Perland Kingdom. She is the 31th Concubine and a hostage. After a tough war, her kingdom fell under the Heron Empire (Marquez conquered them) after a tough war.

Spoiler: Side Character.

Side Characters that I've read so far:

Jamie Genovia - He a prince who's kingdom was also conquered by the Emperor Marquez and has been serving Marquez for about 8 years. He's serves Marquez as an ambassador and often ordered to disguises himself as the emperor enacting Emperor's duties while the real one is out in wars.

Jamie serves Marquez because Maquez says once he's unified the continent, he will restore Jamie's kingdom and give them some independence.

LOL you can't see the emperor's face because the emperor's wears a white veil over his face. What's funny Jamie has green eyes vs emperor's red eyes and wears a silver wig, etc.

So this is all I know since Chapter 15...So in the manhwa promo you see Lydia growing flowers and she finds a strange whom she quickly assumes is a servant. What we don't know from the promo are the flowers that Lydia is so successful at growing are called "Astra"

Chapter Translation:

The emperor is resistant to the deadly flower and he's investigating and I believe that's why he showed up her castle in the promo.

Lydia does not know that's she's growing a dangerous flower, yet. She's thinking that she can make a money selling the flowers at the market to run away and gain her independence..

Isnt yurisina is the 31st concubine? Since she arrived later after 3 years lydia stayed in palace. Ive read chapter 2. But i can be wrong.

I believe their first meeting in the novel and manhwa are the same, which is Lydia seeing Marquez at her castle as she's in her garden.

I'll have to check when he talks with Jamie how he discovered and visited Lydia. Currently up to chapter 15 there are 3 concubines, Lydia, Yurishina, and Caroline Raleigh, who's described as the "red-haired" woman standing next to Yurishina at the ball. He's very cold to everyone but Lydia it seems so far.

Spoiler: Chapter 6-10 Part I

We start out with our MC (Lydia) sitting at the table with 2 other debutantes from some other noble family witnessing Princess Yurishina give her pledge to the Emperor. Think of it like Latte from "Miss Not So Side Kick" who like to think herself as a low key villain from the original novel and who wants to witness the novel come to life before her eyes like in a movie. Instead of popcorn (like Latte), Lydia snacking from buffet.

Lydia, as well as the whole ballroom, is watching in anticipation and silence as the Princess Yurishina approaches the Emperor. Lydia is completely admiring Yurishina's beauty and excited to see the Emperor fall in love with her. She even ponders if she should ask for Yurishina's autograph because it's like watching celebrities in real life.

Lydia watches as Yurishina approaches the emperor and performs an act to show "trust by revealing one's heart to the husband and master Emperor, and at the same time swearing allegiance." The act is kissing the right shoulder of the Emperor in front of everyone.

It's gracefully done and Yurishina steps back and then the Emperor raises his hands calls the Chancellor whispers something to him. Lydia is filled with romantic thoughts wondering if the Emperor will ask Yurishina to come closer or something exciting. Instead the Chancellor Geppetto whispers something to Yurishina, she bows and heads back down to the ballroom crowd.

Lydia is disappointed thinking there would be more action. Up until then everyone was anticipating the final greeting of the evening with the 31st concubine would be more exciting. Since nothing happened the ball resumes.

Then suddenly...mid dance, the Geppetto stops the orchestra and makes and announcement saying that "Some of you haven't said hello yet!"

Drama ensues as everyone is looking around for who forgot to greet the Emperor, including Lydia. She too is looking around to see who it is when suddenly Geppetto literally announces to everyone that a Miss Lydia Odette who has yet to give greetings to the Emperor and on top of that, they send two escorts to the table she's seating to bring her up to the stage. Now the whole ballroom is silent and staring as it is Lydia's walks across the room to make it up the stage.

She gets there and is asked to do the same pledge that Yurishina does. Because of her nerves, as she's bending down to kiss the Emperor's right shoulder her left hand get's caught on the Emperor's veil and she accidentally pulls the veil down which catches on the Emperor's nose revealing the Emperor's green-eyes! DOH!

By now she's imagining all kinds of death from the God of War emperor and steps back. The whole scene becomes awkward because she's in front of the Emperor and no one can see what she did. The emperor quickly pulls back the veil and at the same time Lydia is starting to crumble down to the ground asking for mercy when the emperor stops her and the Geppetto take her off the stage. It's all done quickly that no one really notices the exchange. Lydia is surprised he hasn't ordered her execution on the spot and the crowd who had been watching from down below watch her and gossip jokingly about the Concubine who forgot to say "hello".

Spoiler: Chapter 6-10 Part II

Tired and emotionally drained Lydia decides that it would be best if she would head back to her castle to rest a bit and sneak back into the ball when the last dance was happening as she knew the ball would go on until dawn. So she uses the servant's entrance to find an exit and try to find a carriage that will take her home.

As she's moving through the corridor she turns a corner an encounters large images of fires hanging on the wall (unsure of mtl here) but basically the image of the fire triggers some form of pstd as she becomes shaky and faint. She ends up having to grab the walls of the corridor for support. Basically Lydia recalls in her previous life in Korea that she must have died in some sort of fire and due to that, large fire or flames triggers terror in her.

She backs away from the area and her name is called out. She is confronted by Carolyn Raleigh (3rd Concubine - i think..) the red-headed woman who was giving her hostile looks back in the ballroom. Carolyn basically attacks Lydia screaming at her about how she was able to seduce the emperor and win favor. Lydia pulls her off and tells her there seems to be a misunderstanding but Carolyn brushes her off and signals for someone behind her. It's a big burly man name "Ted".

Basically Carolyn orders Ted to create a scene it which Lydia is caught with a lover in front of the witnesses. Infidelity by a concubine means instant death. Lydia realizes this and kicks Ted between the legs as he approaches her. Ted collapse and Lydia runs around the corner to escape when she hits the fireplace area which triggers her pstd again. She collapse to the floor and thinking it is the end and closes her eyes when suddenly she hears a the sound of someone crashing to the floor.

Opening her eyes, she sees Ted unconscious and Carolyn screaming as she is being thrown like a sack of flour onto the collapse Ted. Our handsome silver hair, red-eyed servant appears and quiets the screaming Carolyn by hitting her on the back of the neck and now she's unconscious on top of Ted.

Lydia is shocked and then ponders if she should stay thank you to the servant/stalker/pervert/predator who just saved her life.
