I read 150+ chapters then stopped because It got really slow. There’s not a lot of romance, but the FL and ML were really cute when they first started dating. honestly, I really felt bad for the ML because the duchess promised him he’ll be the heir if he went to war (idk, I don’t remember much) then suddenly changed her mind and made FL the heir lol. The ML was kind of against it in the start, but then didn’t really care.
did ML mistreat her in the start? and how was the heir problem solved, did they have a contract marriage or something? I mean that was pretty bad of the duchess to suddenly do that but there must be a good reason right?

No, they don’t get married. Both of them fall for each other really fast and started dating secretly. i don’t really remember what happened, but their confession happened because there was a misunderstanding where FL thought ML was going to get engaged to someone else and cried (I think Their confession and first kiss was around chapter 99 -100)
