There are several unlucky numbers in Japanese. Traditionally, 4 is unlucky because it is sometimes pronounced shi, which is the word for death. Sometimes levels or rooms with 4 don't exist in hospitals or hotels. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, all Japanese guys/girls in the forum, tell me, what do you see!
pey! that's nothing! do you know how scared I'm when I realize my clock broken and need to attend PE field test on 5 am?
It is really making me tremble, I just realized that I cannot read the words on the picture. Being illiterate is difficult
I'm immune to fear of late. *Sleep in late* -> *Look at clock* -> "Oh C**p!.....Forget, since it's already late anyway" -> *Return to bed* -> *Get yell at*
The only times when time is scary to me is when it starts moving at 5 times speed when I have a project due in 1 hour.
I see it! I first thought you were talking about the 3 in the calendar but when I glanced at it the second time you're actually talking about the clock. In some other country/ies their said unlucky number was 13. Very fascinating but yeah scary. Most scary time for me is 3am because it is said to be the devils hour. Scary right! Huh!
What made me tremble back then was when i decided that its easier to stay awake until 6 am than wake up at 6 am
Ironically, the word shi is used in names, though the meaning may or not be the equal to death; same with Chinese names like Shi Xiaobai (where shi here doesn't mean death).
Time is really scary when you finally know the answer to all the remaining easy questions, but suddenly only 5 min left.
