This post from the "Weird Thought" thread.

Made me think if a single gender species needs another specie (humans) to procreate/have intercourse.

In the male monster side, they are depicted as ugly and rapes the human women?
This is just a thought, haven't really read/seen much about things related, so this could be a bit biased. And of course there are exceptions too.
    • Re:monster --- artist didn't really draw monsters really ugly but there is rape involved (manga)
    • Goblin Slayer --- goblins/hobgoblin/etc disgustingly ugly and rapist (manga)
    • Tensei Slime (Rinmaru Tempest) --- so far haven't seen any such depiction (manga)
    • Gu family book --- a male nine tailed fox procreate with a human woman that isn't ugly nor a rapist (k-drama)
    • King --- sleeping beauty raped & impregnated by a king (original fairy tale)
    • Incubus (male succubus) --- male demons who seduce and sleep with women, don't know if handsome or ugly so let's just go with how succubus are depicted as beautiful
    • Vampires --- usually depicted as beautiful
    • Satyrs --- rapes women but appearance don't know

In the women monsters side, they are depicted as beautiful and seducers.
This one I've read some in the myths & legends, but can't remember all about it. And same in the male counterpart there maybe exceptions
    • Mermaids/Sirens/Nymps/Harpies --- beautiful women who lives near the waters entice men usually with their voice and drown them. Not sure if there is an sexual activities for procreation.
    • Succubus --- usually depicted as a beautiful woman who sleeps with men and sucks the life out of him
    • Medusa --- an extremely beautiful woman who was raped, then cursed by a jealous goddess. Not sure which part she became ugly for the snake hair or her maybe her face is disfigured as well, since she originally had a stunning face. Sometimes depicted with lamia body. Oh she's the mother of pegasus
    • Lamia --- similar to medusa beautiful and innocent before the transformation as villain who devours men and children
    • Nine tailed fox --- a beautiful woman who temps and tricks men, maybe sleep with them

cross breeding with a whole diffrent species is the most dumb and flawed thing i've ever heard of.

I say natural instinct and do what they can to survive. However it does show the dark side of humanity to write about it but adds a realistic part to the story. If characters were ugly, people would ignore it.

This actually stems from way back. Men were promoted as strong and demanding. Why would a male monster need to look good when he can just take what he wants? Female monsters where the same vein, beautiful and enticing since women were expected to be weak and submisdive. It plays off the male need for dominance and ego while simultaneously warning women against frivolous acts. Basically mysoginy led to the disparity.

    If going by genetics:

Figuratively - the father is a stallion(well hung)
    Literally - the father is a stallion(horse)

Also, if the female monster is an insectoid/parasite: they lay their eggs inside the human male's flesh which is a food source foer the babies

    Genetically...

    But...

There are very real reptile species here on earth which are composed entirely of females and reproduce through parthenogenesis (ie. no genetic material is shared) but still require sexual "stimulation" to start the process... (though they tend to have some "yuri" fun rather than go for males of other species...)

And there are creatures (spiders?) where the females eat the males after sex to sustain their offspring...

And there are creatures here on earth which lay their eggs in other creatures nests (some cuckoos?)
And of course there are creatures that lay their eggs inside of other creatures (some wasps?)

So there could be "biologically realistic" Lamia like monster species made entirely of females who need to fuck something, to start their reproductive process, and who need to consume something afterwards to sustain their offspring, but have no need for that something to be genetically compatible...

And it seems perfectly conceivable that there could be some "goblins" or something that look like they're all male, from a human point of view (ie. they got no boobs and have a "thing" between their legs), but are actually all females that parasitically lay their eggs in other creatures wombs, and their "thing" is actually an ovipositor.

    ...

And while Succubi, Incubi and Vamps are usually depicted as attractive in modern fiction, the original mythological/folklore versions... No so much... Though, I suppose even the original Succubi were sort of seducers, but only in dreams...

Monsters' beauty might be even more relative than how we judge human beauty as they are entirely different creatures.

    Hmmm.

Medusa depicted as beautiful so yes she should be hot. I don't really know about the snaky hair though. I'm on the fur/feather team.
