Ok do any of y'all get where this is going it went from him trying to be average at school to what crazy fanatics trying to kill/kidnap Sera? I mean it's an interesting development but idk it just doesn't seem logical development its more like a bunch of random things thrown together maybe the author planning on connecting it just seems strange to me

That John couldn't keep up the "normal" student facade was pretty much a given, but what I'm interested in is indeed how it developed from 0-100 so quickly. Guess we'll just have to be patient for now.

Seems rushed to me, the past few chapters haven't meshed together well for me.

yup and by the way all the clues lead to conclusion that john's mom was a high tier,the strongest one.his mom was killed because the government can tcontrol her and her abilities are scary AF butlast thing is the book was dedicated to john so that it will be the reminder ,even if your so strong,your still prisonner of that world

 

I mean.. The plot is still uncovering now. I don't want to judge early.. But the story could be really interesting or it will be something really meh that I might drop it..

If you look at the little things, it looks like the government are the ones behind ember, their goal is to kill off the high rankers that are going against the "system" and are a danger to the status quo. So in that line of thought, it is established that the guy in the mall is a member of embers and is getting info on high rankers, and that there is one informant in their school, which is known for having a lot of powerful people, it is also known that sera was suspended for having the book in her possession, said book had been causing lots of high rankers to be wanna be hero's And go against the status quo. Tack that with her recent change in attitude "pre John to what we see now" and it makes a good case for the government to get ride of her...

And it should also be speculated that John is already on their radar, but he isn't showing any signs of trying to change the status quo thus there's no need to eliminate him

He isn't going against the status quo of the society. If he was actively working to change things, like the "super heros" they are killing, then they'd likely already have been trying to kill him

 

Well on the previous chapters(I can't remember what number)It is stated that after the "berserk" Incedent that cause his expulsion,John faced a Interrogation/Trial or can be called "REVIEW"(Pretty much forgot the exact term).The reason why he's not on the watchlist was because it's proven to be a legitimate self-defense,And/or he sign an agreement to not cause anymore problem to the authorities(That's the main reason why he goes by the "Cripple" alibi).Well to be honest even if John wants to destroy the government,they have the ultimate weapon,The "Silencer"(another term I forgot)but if I remember it's been hinted when john was in the infirmary on the first chapters.The silencer is none other than the

If that was the case why would ember a government organization instead of doing a review and interview that those agents went to her house for go straight to the kidnapping and killing Sera it can't just because of the book they know John is powerful dangerous and his father wrote the book why would her doing nothing but owning it cause such a major reaction so there has to be something or someone else behind the scenes personally I don't think it's ember targeting her but another organization

welp it's the "ember right?" trying to kidnap sera? they just need the remains after they killed her and throw it somewhere with the burnt mark and I read the chapter first hand before stating my theory.The guy you said was the one john intended to use his barier copy from arlo but it failed.
