So I had a new story idea, but I need some help with different urban legends and myths. Im talking about every kind of weird phenomenon and creatures out there. Vampires, zombies, tengu's. The more the better.
the dancing disease that caused a large number of people to die from exhaustion... this happened in real life https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_Plague_of_1518
Duh, urban legends depend on region. NY sewer reptiloids don't really mix with Japanese Kuchisake-onna or Nazi moon bases. Wiki got some, but I am sure Internet is full of similar lists. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_urban_legends
There is this... https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/06/090602-smiling-death-potion.html That's one weird and awesome poison...
For some reason , most schools especially ones tend to located where a cementary/burial site are onced located or just next to it. That leads to many school ghost stories. It didn't help that in religion affiliate school is near the church thus some singing of latin hymns was expected at night.
hoooo. . .. well just look at the Hyakki Yagyo . . every member is an urban legend. . . oh if your goibg to write one and use a certain type of legend, i advice that you will somehow introduce it in a mild way like how Sensei in Natsume Yujinchou do. .
I would try the Creepypasta subreddit. As cheesy as it is, it's your most comprehensive place to find these kinds of stories.
The ever famous myth, keep your virginity for 30 years and auto job change into a wizard. My guess is since there aren't any precedent of proof in this world, then those who manage to unlock such potential might have ascended to a higher realm.
Latin America: La Llorona The story tells of a beautiful woman by the name of María who drowns her children in a river as a means of revenge towards her husband, who had left her for a younger woman. She drowns herself in the river when she realizes her children are dead. At the gates of heaven, she is challenged over the whereabouts of her children, and is not permitted to enter the afterlife until she has found them. María is forced to wander the Earth for all eternity, searching in vain for her drowned offspring. She constantly weeps, hence her name "La Llorona." She is caught between the living world and the spirit world. People who claim to have seen her say she appears at night or in the late evening by rivers or lakes. Some believe those who hear the wails of La Llorona are marked for death but those who escape in time are not so marked
how about early internet urban legends? if you dont forward the email, someone will visit and kill you or facebook legends, if you dont like, you die
näcken, its a nude guy(or girl depending on the version) playing the violin who will either drown you or just play the best music of all time...can be defeated by saying their name or you bring a treat of three drops of blood, a black animal, some "brännvin" (vodka) or snus (tobacco) dropped into the water, he would teach you how to play mad riffs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neck_(water_spirit)
- Bahamut is a fish and not a dragon. - a Peng is a fish that grew wings to fly (size varies). - Mananaggal are vampire-like monsters that fly and leaves its lower half on the ground (did i mention they’re mostly female?). - Bigfoot exist! That one guy has proof! - El Chupacabra is a monster who sucks the blood out of goats leaving a husk every meal time (wouldnt that be easier to clean the meat this way?). - Dr Who is a woman (soon) - Rumors say that Judas was the first Vampire (from The Librarian movie) - Thor is the God of Thunder (yet he controls lightning, hes stealing his dad’s thunder) - Lucifer was struck down and was sent to hell (only to go to LA cus hes bored with it) - Lucifer Morningstar (redundant name) is named after the morning star, Venus (also he uses a sword and not a morningstar) - Trump’s hair (no one actually knows if its real or not, still up for debate) - The 7 sins were actually supposed to be 8 (but 7 was more ominous cus 7 ate 9) - Aliens Thats all for now
