Recommendations VRMMO novel where real life still exists

I'm looking for a series like 1/2 Prince or LMS where the MC still interacts with the real world. I'd prefer to avoid stories with plots about reality and the game merging or similar (yes, I know neither of my examples qualify, its why I dropped HP, but thankfully, its more of a running gag than anything in LMS). Also, if the game is one that no sane person would play, and its still treated as the #1 game in the world, then it will break my willingness to suspend disbelief.

No horror or yaoi please. Female MC's preferred, but not required. MC's that don't make you root for the bad guys to kill them are a must. Please check my list first if its a well known title. RRL and other sites are fine so long as its available online, legally for free.

Also, if you are not opposed to slow updates, but extremely good reads, I suggest finding this one. On Hony'yaku's site, OriginStory, female protag Naru is fairly awesome.

Another one I like is The Latest Game Is Too Amazing. Although it involves actual transfer to another world, but he can still log out.

Reign of the hunter = Female protagonist nice n balance story between RL n games, nice romance, Great fight scene pvp. Finished reading the raw. 4rating from me.

I hated the MC of Ark, LMS was mentioned in the opening post and I didn't like Sura's Wrath either. As I recall, it was because it felt like generic wish fulfillment with an unrealistic, plot hole laden plot, but its been a while, so I could have dropped it for a different reason.

Looks extremely iffy, but I'll give it a shot.

I've read Slight Smile, also, that part of HP is why I dropped it.

Assuming you mean this one, I dropped it and even wrote a review explaining why as I recall.

Reading it, though honestly, it doesn't really qualify. Real life is just the place where he eats and buys headgear, nothing really happens there.

Lots. Honestly, far too many read like isekai stories.

Dropped OSO, too many anime cliches, not enough originality. Sad really, I liked that the MC was a crafter.
OS has highly questionable art, but I'll give it a shot anyway
Honestly, I'd been avoiding TLGiTA since it sounded super stupid, but if he can actually log out, then that gives me hope that it'll be the good kind of stupid.

SR: Dropped it. As I recall it was because the MC was ridiculously OP with excessive luck to the point that there was no suspense in any of the fights and the characters were too mono-dimensional and the plot too nonexistent to make up for it.

search for A Certain Middle Aged Man's VRMMO Activity Log (can't post links yet)

 

I tried it once, but it just felt too much like an OSO clone.

and Single Player Only (not VRMMO, but same elements nonetheless)

Thanks for reminding me it exists.

GH: I don't really like the premise. It just doesn't make sense to me that you'd even be able to hack the game from inside it. The most you'd be able to do is exploit bugs. Any real hacking would have to take place in the real world, and that doesn't really require playing the game except to test whatever changes you've made.
TAG: Dropped. I believe it was due to lack of interest but its been too long to be certain
ZL: Dropped. Lots of reasons.
SPO: reading it. Its not really holding my attention though.

Reading it already, and there are no VRMMO's in RL or I'd be playing them right now
