The older I get the more I cannot believe I use to watch Shojo-- Peach Girl in all its glory and a lot more. I want a war story without pure female, a pure female even at age 200 is a girl. I am not interested in jailbait something along the lines of Rain without the Princess and Tsunderes. I might be asking for too much
Just to be clear, you're asking for a war story with a woman MC who is NOT a little girl, correct? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Would sword princess altina qualify? She's a teenager and not the MC but it's the closest I can think of.

Pure as in ignorant, naive, just a dumbass I prefer worldly female characters that have been tempered by life It does not need to have a female character as the protagonist, stories without romance with a male protagonist are actually preferred
I can understand the want for mature, tempered characters. Unfortunately, there arent that many novels with them. I cant think of any others apart from my three recs above.
There is/was a manhua i was keeping up with a while back, it was called City of Darkness. Story is meh, the characters are decent and the interactions are interesting. Some parts want you to bash your head(you will lose hope in humanity) and others make you awestruck (not really but it will be kinda intense). Its like a gang war kinda thing at first... following that i kindacaught up on chaps and never went back
Maybe Akuyaku tensei? I mean it's a reborn into an otome game title but it is very different... Not a pure MC but a damaged one. With war.
Don't know if these would work for what you're looking for, but: The Girl Who Bore the Flame Ring This story does mostly take place during a civil war.The MC comes off like a happy-go-lucky ditz at first, however she is actually cunning, ruthless, and efficient in dealing with people and especially in actual combat. There is no real romance to speak of, other characters have their own plans and schemes going on, and the plot can be intriguing. It's only 48 chapters long, but they are pretty long chapters and 40 of them are on NU and the translation team does update regularly too. Akuyaku Tensei Dakedo Doushite Kou Natta This one starts off as one of those "Reincarnation as the Villainess into the world of an Otome game stories". However, this is more like a military story in the world of what is supposed to be an Otome game. In fact, knowing the world is one of a game she's played before does the MC absolutely no good outside of compelling her to Spoiler poison her entire family during her second birthday party so their reprehensible actions don't result in her own execution as well as their own under her country's strict moral/religious law which is the very first action we see her take. The story afterwards is of her becoming a landed noble, learning the ins and outs of nobility, warfare, and managing the land she is given charge over Spoiler which has been torn apart and left weak by her family's selfishness and poor management. The quality of life for the people was so bad that the MC's family, especially her father, were considered demons by the populace of her own land. This also means that the entire population of her fief abhor her the moment she takes charge. It has a "romance" tag on it but.... Spoiler I'm pretty sure that completely died out 56 chapters in and as of ch. 206 "romance" hasn't returned, well for the MC at least. This is a pretty slow story though as the story stated when the MC was 2 and as of ch. 206 she's 15 now. There is a lot of character building, political intrigue, and also some military action/skirmishes. It even seems as if the MC herself is gaining infamy Spoiler similar to Vlad the Impaler in the eyes of the enemy nation, so there's that.

I second it. Well, that tells you there's a living fanbase for it. Wouldnt be a bad choice for a project. It needs some TL love.
