Discussion What is your favorite MOBA?

As we can see now the MOBA genre is taking over gaming on the PC platform. And for me, I think they are pretty fun with friends and toxic if you are soloing. which on is your favorite? if you have ever played one. (LOL FANBOY HERE) no hate plz.

I used to play Dota 1, when I was in college. It was fun, caused I can play with my friends and housemate.
Now, I don't play and MOBA anymore and I never play Dota 2.

 

I can't see it~ most net game where I see is people play FPS and MMORPG~
MOBA? too few~

between Dota 2 , LoL and HoN prefer Dota 2

Ex. AOV and ML

 

I played Legend of Dota in warcraft but dont like dota 1. Never played dota 2, playing lol right now and it is my favorite.

 

i only ever played dota series since dota 1 was popular back then and then followed by dota 2. here everyone never mentioned LOL (not this lol)

 

I don't really have a favourite but dota2 is the one that I at least am not suck at

Heroes of the Storm, has objectives and Dota 2 is a real fight they both have their pros. I never played LoL and Smite is too much for my computer to handle

 

we chat about PC platform not mobile~ despite there software to make it possible play mobile game on PC~

 

i played dota a decade ago... now, i'm playing LoL. i like both, but i think i enjoy LoL more since i played more with friends. it's not on pc, but i also like mobile legends. it's easy, but it's a nice short alternative if i just want to take a short break

 

League for life. Overwatch is a nice contender though but it’s not a moba per se

But yeah, mobas are bascially trash right now. more or less the same problem as with mmo's, nobody does shit.

The only people who actully come up with new things are random warcraft 3 map makers and similar, but well let's just say that wc3 user interface and engine is outdated. Would have been neat if Starcraft 2's galaxy editor and social/community infrastructure weren't such a pieces of shit (Rest in peace clans and chat channels) then we'd have tons of "mobas"/AoS-style maps/lanepushing games.

Personally though, while I don't actually like Heroes of the Storm, I think they've come the furthest. Blizzard got rid of most of the stupid BS and streamlined the experience like their usual top-notch polish.

For instance replacing items with perks/talents or whatever, probably the best descison they could have made, for all kinds of reasons. Basically improves the game on every level.

1. It's easier to balance as you can fine-tune champions/heroes without also affecting other perfectly balanced characters because they buy the same item.
2. There's not such a steep learning curve for new/casual players. You just have to learn what talents/perks your character that you're playing have instead of learning every single item and browsing through an entire list of 100+ items and know which ones are the best for your character and which ones you should buy when you play against c ertain other characters etc etc.
3. items with active abilities are aids
4. Boots of speed are even more aids, please just add 50 movespeed to all heroes/champs and remove any boot items from any moba. Seriously wasting an item slot just because "dota 1" had it, so every single moba has to use it after that... >.>

Basically the only good thing that has come out from items is sniping couriers in dota & hon and stealing bottles...

And I guess fishing with techies
