    I was going through Chinese and Japanese shopping sites when I found this weird language. How do I translate it?

    It's an ancient language known only to modern peoples as Mojibake. Modern language has evolved in such a way that its ancient tones are unpronounceable. The meaning of the script is also lost, a relic of ages gone by.

    If only we could uncover the secrets hidden within...

    In seriousness, Mojibake is basically what happens when you have the wrong encoding for a site, and it is trying to display characters from one encoding in another. Try changing your text encoding to Japanese (Shift-JIS) or one of the other possible encodings. On Firefox, Press Alt, go to the View Menu, and check out the Text Encoding dropdown menu. On other browsers, try something similar!

    Should be because of wrong language code. I remember seeing something similar when I tried to play some translated Japanese visual novels but forgot to change the language to Japanese.:ROFLMAO:

    There are a couple likely possibilities. It could be an encoding error. If you're only seeing it in that one place on that one site, that's probably the issue. If you're seeing the garbled text everywhere, you're probably missing a language pack.

    If you can provide a link to the page with the garbled text, that would be helpful.
