I hadn't really thought about it like that, I don't really know any of the personalities of the current scientists leading nowadays but Im assuming they have a much more open mindset than those in the past.

Some do I'm sure, but I doubt the majority do, especially among academics. When you've spent the majority of your life trying to convince people that you're right about something, it becomes very difficult to convince you that you're wrong, especially after you've convinced enough people that you're right. I can still remember one of my better teachers complaining that the man who pioneered his field (and whom he greatly respected) tended to see every problem through the lens of his particular (outdated) specialty. He had gotten so good with his hammer, that everything seemed like a nail to him, even if it was a screw (metaphorically speaking).

1 time usage and then I'll just move to the mountains, bushes, rivers, beach, ocean, sky, underground.

I'll keep going until I've been on every spot.

I guess... But we don't really have much to go on at the moment to know 100% apart from your teachers one experience? I'm just more of the opinion that with how postively we as a society react to young people taking up science that it doesn't mean the old generation scientists marginalise and ignore any and all ideas put forth by younger scientists (although I'm sure it happens just not as widely as assumed)
So once again in my opinion Science would move forward if humanity were to be given immortality.

Again, just my opinion, because it's really hard to accurately predict on this what if scenario.

Human Nature will start corrupting the reasonable. Immortality in any way should not be achieved unless society is ready. Is society ready now? No it's not. Not dying from natural causes yet dying to killing effects will make those immortals always worry in the back of their heads. Some would avoid everything by just staying in one place not achieving anything because immortality is what they have.

We are immortal, we probably will have tech that helps with memory, but then we might even willingly cut away memories huh.

There would still need to be progress in things like recycling. If not, then the non-renewable resources would eventually run out and society would regress.

Also, OP said you can still die in other ways. So I'd assume that there would be scientific progress to stop meteors, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. Not to mention, wars would still exist, which is one of the greatest motivators for technological advancements (ending another's life would be an even bigger threat).
