I pre ordered this game a month ago. I love pirates and this looks like a lot of fun. I coudnt wait back when Black Flag came out years ago. Do you think it will live up to the hype?
I liked the game, but I don't get how many people are on one map. ALSO: They should have a cannon on the front, if you are chasing someone and both keep up on sails, you never catch up.
i've only seen very little gameplay from the beta, but i'm honestly afraid it's gonna end up being very grindy late game unless you get friends and then just sail around killing people
I regret buying The Hunter: Call of The Wild. I can spend 5 hours without killing anything. The beautiful graphics tricked me. I heard the game has no levels
I saw that. It's that game where you get on a boat and sail around large empty spaces doing trivial and demeaning fetch quests while maybe encountering a couple of probably hostile griefers on servers with limited player caps, right? Yeah, sounds terrible. No thanks. "Create your own adventure" is publisher language for "we forgot to add content to our game."
yeah, but as far as i've seen the gameplay pretty much boils down to: get treasure map - sail to treasure - complete short puzzle/riddle - get treasure chest - sail back to pirate base - turn treasure chest into money - repeat. i think you can use the money for weapon upgrades, cosmetics like clothing, and ship upgrades. so about 70% of the game will be going back and forth sailing on a pretty empy ocean, 20% of the game will be exploring islands that i guess are pretty much all the same (as far as i know you'll probably be going to the same island a couple of times since you sometimes gets the same treasure map again later) and then maybe 10% of the game will be combat against other players (ofc that depends on your luck, and on if you're hunting for other players). it looks like a fine game, but i think its only gonna be really good if you get like 3-4 friends with you and then go around hunting other players. (edit: and as far as i know the treasure chests are random, with like 3-4 different kinds, so you pretty much risk sailing for like 30 minutes (idk how long you sail for, just a guess) and then getting the lowest tier chest)
extremely expensive for tiny amount of content so no all i'm waiting for this year is: dark souls remastered, monster hunter world pc version, crowfall (possibly, if it lives up to what they've promised) and mount and blade bannerlord
Someone can correct me since i haven't been following the game too closely but this feels like it'll die down after a bit of time. It is a PvP world right? You and your crew vs the world and other players with limited amount of interaction between you and the world? If you have a solid group to play with i would see spending money for this but otherwise... i'd give it a bit of time to see how it is received.
That game needs major overhaul. Looks like a bad alpha currently. Currently it´s just a poor sandbox without all the fun stuff to actually make what I qualify as a game.
