    Whoever wrote Awakening...
I only heard their names due to a feminist Asian drama blog in the vein of Dramabeans.
But I am stumped, even after researching for a few hours I didn't learn much. Just how tragic life was for women centuries ago and how only rich people could write

Never read any of Anne Brontë's works.

Not a fan of Wuthering Heights. Critics/fans may sing praises of it, but it felt like one big mess to me.

Jane Eyre was decent. So, Charlotte it is.

Jane Eyre is a masterpiece. I don’t like Wuthering Heights, but I can sort of understand why others might like it. I haven’t read anything by Annie Brontë.

The ignorance in this thread is amazing to me. (⊙o⊙)

most people here read only manga and web novels, it's not strange there aren't a lot of people who know those authors, i know them just because i have a hardcopy of the book, and i read it years ago...so i don't remember much about the content...

    About that......who are they exactly?

You can't expect everyone to "Google" them just because they are famous right? If you want to do a poll, 1st rule is Always about Introduction.

Charlotte and Emily wrote very famous 19th century books, “Jane Eyre” and “Wuthering Heights” respectively. Annie was a poet, I believe, and I’m not familar with her works.

All 3 were incredible writers but I've only read two of the authors so I can't really say who was the better writer.

Maya Angelou visited my college but I didn't meet her even though I was being taught her poems that semester. Humanities was just an elective for me. I am not a literature major. It is no surprise that people do not know of or appreciate people from centuries ago when they can't appreciate their own contemporaries

(Can I vote for Jane Austen?)

    Edit:
I voted for the one I personally like best but I honestly don’t think they are comparable. They wrote works that each have their own strengths. This means it really boils down to personal preference. The ML of Wuthering Heights didn’t capture my attention enough. Honestly, I’d rather compare Wuthering Heights to the folktale of Bluebeard (and adaptions from it) if we are just pulling out the sisters’ most famous works... and Wuthering Heights doesn’t win against it for me.

I am not trying to naysay your poll however, good luck on it!

If you read any English literature you will come across the Bronte sisters. They are incredibly influential to English literature.

Jane Eyre is considered one of the best English novels ever written.

Likewise, Wuthering Heights has been incredibly influential to English fiction/music. Hell even SAO has a Wuthering Height's reference (Heathcliff).
