Superstars of Tomorrow is one of those I suggest to anyone. Very well written.

I guess rebirth is just quite popular among the writers. Its just a really simple way to change everything about the boring normal life we live in to a fantasy world. But it's more relatable than normal fantasy because it happens to a normal person from our world after all:)
And the specific rebirth to the same time would perhaps not be as exiting for the writer?

When the otaku culture was hoping for an injection of female blood, but they turn out to be fujoshi

The word 'injection' is highly suggestive :blobokhand:

It could be that female otaku fed on sports anime/manga and some action anime/manga where you have a strong rival character with almost the same screen time as the MC and the whole energy between them woke the evil shipping urge that resides in the heart of most teenage girls... So they became fujoshi. I started with writing DBZ fanfics, and they weren't even yaoi at the time, I just wanted to have Goku and Vegeta live together without their wives for some reason and observe the dynamics between them. Later on, I realized where this came from lol... when I read my first yaoi manga which nearly traumatized me. I'm sure most fujoshi have some kinda story about how they turned to yaoi. It's almost like how boys discover porn one day and they change forever. Yaoi is in its essence porn after all (tho it's more appealing to girls than the regular old porn, since yaoi has more story, more accent on feelings, more hot dudes...)

I really agree with these two posters. Because harems were what caused me to turn to Yaoi. Personal experience: I discovered Chinese web novels through the novels of Gu Man (A Slight Smile is Alluring) and Ding Mo (When a Snail Loves). So basically urban romance and romantic suspense. And I was totally hooked. Wanted to read more of the same but the good (translated) ones were rarer than unicorns. So I finally tried some of the cultivation ones. And soon encountered problems. Because while I was totally hooked by the cultivation and the world-building, they were just tooo freaking long, with cardboard characters and zero character development. And the harems; don't get me started on the harems. I just wanted a not too long novel with reasonably fleshed out characters and 1v1 romance. And that's how I found How to Say I love You, a BL novel from the same author as the BL classic Quickly Wear the face of a Devil. Interestingly, I wasn't too impressed by QWTFAD. But 'How to say I love you' became a favourite. And then I found Guardian by Priest. Which is again amazing.

So my advice is to echo Frostfire10 and say don't let the tags stop you. Try them, you can always replace the genders with your fav combo

Maybe try treating MC as a female if he is a bottom and treat the rest as males.
Likewise, treat MC as male and treat others as female if he is on top.

This way, there won't be anything wrong. Probably the best advice ever..

Because fujoshis have unlimited love for this Genre, I tried reading yaoi and zi just felt very uncomfortable. Yuri was much better, but I still didnt like it as much as I did straight relationships. The closest thing I have read to bl is Reborn as my love rivals wife. I love it, now I do rsa harem novels but straight 1 male and female stories are the best. Loyalty is key. Ill read genderbend, because those sre usually hilarious and not as raunchy or gross as bl.

"More story" nah bl is just a badly written sausage fest.

I read a bl, didnt know it was bl, because they didnt put the tag and ended up not finishing a chapter because out of nowhere they started fucking.

Says the person that didn't finish a single chapter of a BL story. You clearly know nothing about the genre.

BL is shoujo, but with 2 guys instead of one girl and one guy. It's this simple.

I read up to chapter 10 I think, and it was revealed to bl in that chapter. Also from all the fujoshis I know, the more sex in it the better.

There is a ton of BL without R-18 content in it, your view is heavily prejudiced.

I tend to avoid reading any novel with the tag shojo/shonen ai and yuri/yaoi. I can read a little if it's manga style but novel is a big no. I like my ML/FL genre more. So it pains me when I saw a good summary in NU only for it to have either a yuri/yaoi or shojo/shonen ai.

If there is lot of yaoi and yuri
I think we shoul open seperate section for yaoi and yuri queries in nuf.
    Or
Others have to be lot more active as a counter.
These novel are on spree just like chinese novels were and are now.

Honestly you could've just been reading a shitty BL

There's so much BL that a lot are basically pretty bad(or for porn), so you might've not read the actually good shit.

It's like trying out a new type of food, but you happened to ate low quality food, making you believe that certain food overall is pretty shit

Maybe try reading a BL novel that doesn't really focus as too deeply on the romance as they do on the story, like "founder of diabolism" , there's no smut (except for the extras, but you can skip that because they're just bonus chapters)

I'll chip in a quality story too, I guess. Read The Earth is Online, at least the first few arcs, or the first hundreds. That's before the Romance kick in, but it's very engaging in a smart way.
