Title. MC doesn't actually reincarnate or anything. Not even any transmigration. He just receives his future memories.

That's it. I had a "shower thought" (though it was actually a "sitting on a chair thought") which came to mind while I was thinking about reincarnator & transmigrator genre.

I feel this is a worthy shitpost for NUF

 

It's because the story is a reincarnation of another story( don't mind me, just a sauna thought)

The soul is able to traverse and occupy a vessel in the infinity of that space where souls traverse dimensions. Transmigration is when the soul and vessel are transported via a tunnel or link from one parallel dimension to another. Reincarnators are protagonist who died in their previous lifetime and reincarnate to a new lifetime which could be their past or future as the present holds no bounds. In truth, there are no boundaries in terms of reincarnation except if include or exclude the law of karma. Reincarnation is a cycle; it never stops unless one exist beyond the boundaries of life and death; karma and tribulation. If you die in that world, you simply go full circle but the only difference is where you stop and continue (via death) again.

 

Reincarnation can also be termed as "Rebirth".

Technically, the ML went through a type of rebirth to go back to his starting point.

You need to look at the base word "incarnation" part of "reincarnation". You, sitting at the computer typing is an incarnation of the physicality of your mental, spiritual, and "soul" of self. Should you suddenly find memories you didn't have, you'd have been visited by another incarnation of yourself or another. To them, it'd be "reincarnation". Technically, since your incarnation is always in flux, the you of a second ago is not the you of now. Thus, any alteration to your soul and consciousness that changes it significantly, either through going to another body to alter their incarnation, going forward or backward in time to alter the incarnation of who's body you find yourself in, is a "reincarnation" story.

Transmigration is similar, but moving along the planes of existence.
