C1: Why are they using scimitars? I thought this was a sci-fi series?

I wonder how he can tell that the badge is a kilo. He's likely lost a ton of strength by going back in time, so a kilo shouldn't really feel like a kilo to his current understanding of his own strength.

“Of course it’s the Last Peaceful Year” Why would they call it that when they're living in it? As far as they know, things will be peaceful again eventually. Or do they have seers who have decreed it as such?

C2: I'm not really sure I see the need for a strong cheat on top of future knowledge. Future knowledge is a pretty strong cheat all on its own. Honestly, with just that, he might be able to beat the demons before the game even launches.

C3: What makes him think 5 is a small number? The only prices he's seen so far were for 2 skills at 1 point. With that baseline, 5 points is quite a lot. Unless he's already familiar with those skills and knows that they're trash?

"One good news, is that a player’s cultivation can be brought to reality." Then why did it take them so long to realize that it wasn't a game?

I wonder if he'll stick with the bow. It'd make a nice change from all the sword obsessed MCs.

If there's only one soldier left, then why was the demon even bothering to hide? Why didn't it just kill him? You could say that he wasn't hungry yet, but then killing the MC wouldn't make sense. "Rescuing" him and then killing him when it was hungry would have made more sense.

Demons aren't stupid, right? If he kills them from within the invisibility formation, then it shouldn't take them very long to pinpoint the base's location and overrun it.

Also, how is he so accurate? He didn't learn accuracy, and bows are not so forgiving that a novice can fire them accurately without significant training. Heck, he didn't even learn Precision, which might have given him enough info to figure out accuracy on his own.

"As long as there is enough Soul Points, I’m immediately able to comprehend any skills that a weapon once used, if it’s like this, what skills are there in the world that is out of my reach?" Non-weapon skills. Obviously. Which, by the way, are by far the most useful skills in a world spanning conflict.

C4: So, does time continue to pass in the game while he's gone? If so, then that cook is going to die after being abandoned for almost a month and the MC's a bit of a jerk for not caring at all.

What's the point in the invisibility formation if they're going to put the mass grave right outside of it?

"all precisely aimed at its weak points" How? He didn't take Precision.

I wonder if he can cultivate to get xp, or if he has to kill.

C5: So, in what way is asking a girl out to eat not confessing to her in that situation?

It would have been quite easy for him to go to a hospital and get tested to prove that he'd been drugged to act like that. Her father would at that point have directed his anger to the drugger, and (possibly) not the drugged. At bare minimum, he would have dragged his "friend" down with him.

[Zhang Ye bites his teeth and step forward, whispering into Gu Qing Shan’s ear: “Gu Qing Shan, your peaceful days are over”] Seriously? What's the point in breaking character here? He gains nothing and loses everything by revealing himself now.

C6: I'm beginning to understand why this novel's early chapters are regarded as utter trash. I mean, seriously, if they had someone who could so easily extract truth from people, then proving the MC's innocence would have been child's play in the original timeline, and given his stellar reputation up to that point, there's no reason they wouldn't have done it. The author is clearly not thinking things through.

c7: "Unfortunately, the trail also goes cold here." Not really. Just because a high school student couldn't track it, that doesn't mean that an extremely rich and highly motivated family couldn't.

"With his academic records, he can easily pass the examination, picking whichever university he wants." Not really. Grab any professional in the world who hasn't been in school for 10+ years, and I doubt they'd be able to pass a generalized college exam. There's simply too much useless knowledge being tested.

Wouldn't making an offer like this with this timing make the girl's family super suspicious that he was the mastermind behind the previous plot? Even if its not enough for them to go after him, it would be enough to chill their relationship and make courtship of her much more difficult. Also, why would he do this himself? There's no need. He could easily hire someone to do it for him, someone who wasn't completely braindead, actually had people skills, and (ideally) wasn't connected to him in any way.

Also, why keep his cultivation a secret? With it, he could pretend to be a Professional. Apparently, that would up his status quite a bit and open many doors for him.

Why get rid of the evidence? Just call the girl and ask for her help in dealing with the Nie family. The shame of getting caught would likely be more than enough for his family to chastise and punish him. He'd never get a real punishment of course, but he might have his movements restricted enough that the MC could ignore him for a while, which is all he really needs considering how fast his strength will grow.

C9: Martial Masters were only the second realm of martial artists, right? Why is someone so weak a Grand Steward of the clan? Or is the clan actually quite weak on a global scale?

C10: If he's going to snipe him (which is much more intelligent than I was expecting by the way), then why didn't he do it from across the street or something? That room is so small that he might as well have used a spear to "snipe" him.

Why would the communicator be showing Nie Yun's image? Wouldn't that have been very distracting for his steward? Also, how does the MC know that casino? He'd never have had any reason to go there. I'd guess that it was the only casino in town, but he specifically said it was the biggest.

C11: Why wouldn't Wang Ming have runaway immediately? He owed the MC nothing. Whatever debts existed were already repaid at extreme cost to Wang Ming. He should want the MC dead more than ever, even if he's given up on the idea of killing him.

"Gu Qing Shan have took on several jobs to make money, at the same time accumulated a large amount of personal Merit to prepare for future education necessities." The author says this, but I doubt he really understands how draining it is to work even one job while maintaining perfect grades at a top school. Not to mention the question of when he'd have the time. Even if he somehow didn't need sleep at all, there's still only so many hours in a day.

"this person's personality is not bad." He's a hired killer... His personality is definitely bad...

I wonder if he'll gift the Su family some major advances, or hog them for himself and try to start his own company? I'm betting on the latter, even though the former would help humanity more due to the time it would take him to build the business up to a large enough size to actually matter in the war.

If his academics were so impressive, then why didn't she take an interest in him in the last life? The prom incident would have drawn her attention to him, and his status as a genius would definitely have been mentioned in the rumors. Heck, he should already have been on her list of potential candidates even before then. There's basically no reason for him to not have been recruited, even if she didn't like his perceived character as a potential rapist. I sincerely doubt he'd be the first rapist she worked with after all.

C12: If time doesn't pass while you're logged out, then that feels like something that could be easily abused for strategic purposes.

"The putrid smell of blood from the dead pit is too strong. If it attracts a powerful demon that can see through the Invisibility formation of the outpost, you and I both will end up dead" This should be common knowledge taught during basic training, if not by your own parents when you're still a toddler.

I'll be severely disappointed if he kills the giant.

C13: "Soul Points +2, current Soul Point 3/5" shouldn't this be 3/10? Or did his SP not increase with his cultivation level like it was supposed to?

I'm surprised he didn't try to eat it, even if it did have a human face.

"of course having a chance means you can also fail and gain nothing." yeah right. He'll definitely always get something and that something will definitely always be OP.

He had a sword earlier though? It offered him two trash skills when he picked it up.

Of course, he could always just make himself a sword at the research center.

C15: Why would the high grade items still be there? The officers ran away. They'd definitely have taken the high grade items with them when they did. It's not like they wouldn't have known it was there, been unwillingly to look for it, or unwilling to search for its key after all.

Why the f' would you use soul points to level up? You get them the same way as xp, but xp is easier to obtain. Add on to that the fact that soul points actually have a lot more uses and using them to replace xp is basically the same as crippling yourself. And that's before noticing that SP requires cultivation methods, while xp doesn't.

"In later stages of the game, the amount of Experience Points needed for each level becomes an astronomical number, becoming invisible shackles for the large amount of players." So what? There's no reason to believe that the SP cost won't also be extreme, nor is there any reason why he couldn't change his mind then. There was no time limit on this decision.

C16: "It seems that Soul Point really is high quality, so I’ve won the gamble." It is way too early to be coming to that conclusion. I'm sure he's right of course. His plot armor is too thick for anything else, but he has no reason to know that.

"Since his maximum Soul Point has increased, he’s no longer in a rush to comprehend "Precision"." Well, why would he be when the author has already given it to him for free?

"That’s obvious, breaking through two stages in a row is rare even in the cultivator world." Three stages.

C17: "After an hour." He's still standing next to the corpse that was already stated to be attracting demons. Why has he not already been attacked?

And yet, even with this semi-divine skill, I bet he'll still insist on using a sword. Even though its actually an inferior weapon for someone leading an army.

I wonder if higher levels of the skill will just add more arrows, or if they'll add effects to the arrows too.

I wonder if its occurred to him yet that any "inventions" he comes up with will belong to the Su family due to him being an employee of their research arm. If so, and if he doesn't plan to give his "inventions" to them, I wonder how he plans to get around that, or if the author hasn't realized it either and will pretend that a super rich family wouldn't use the law to steal everything from him.

C19: Looking at that merit attainment list, its pretty clear that the government doesn't really value human life.

“In accordance to the Confederate Constitution of rights, all citizens engaging in creation-centric scientific research should be given the right of Privacy, to ensure their own safety and intellectual properties are not at risk. Request accepted, from this moment forward, Impartial Goddess will keep your secret” And what about the contract that he undoubtedly signed with the Su clan that definitely made all his inventions their exclusive property?

That aside, I wonder how many merits he'll get from this design, and who will get the rights to construct it for the Confederation.

Why wouldn't Impartial Goddess have a direct line to the human leader of the nation?

    lol, that poor concert XD

C20: “Mission complete, all agents retreat” rofl. I can just picture the confusion of those agents XD

C21: "Using the power of a single person, wanting to change the future is almost impossible." He basically already did it by gifting such an advanced mech to the Federation. Of course, it's hard to say if it was a good change or not since it could lead to the Federation attacking the rest of the world, thus weakening them right before the game would normally have started.

Just how poorly raised is Bai Hong Wu to not understand that disrespecting the madame's personal guest is the same as disrespecting her? Or did she ask him to do that? If so, then she should have taken care of it herself rather than asking an outsider, or better yet, not invited the MC at all.

“Fire the Mech R&D department’s researcher Gu Qing Shan, effective immediately” Technically, the design he just created still belongs to her, even if she fired him the next day. That said, I wonder how long it will take her to regret this decision for the rest of her life? And if the author will acknowledge the fact that the design 100% belongs to her.

C22: “You tapped our phone conversation?” How? There's no way Impartial Goddess would have allowed anyone to tap into that conversation. She'd eradicate the Su family before allowing such a thing.

Why did she awaken early? Nothing he did would have resulted in that, and he's still the only one that should be capable of altering the world's course significantly. It's only been two days after all.

All that aside, he was once one of the leaders of humanity. There's no way he doesn't know the value of his mech design. Couldn't he just contact Impartial Goddess and ask for basically anything that he wants? A new job, a mountain of cash, State protection, entry into whatever university, or even employment as a full-time teacher at any university? You know, basically anything his currently established character might think of.

"supreme commander of a nation’s greater-than-a-million military force." A million is a rather small force for a supreme nation, especially by Chinese standards.

"His masterpiece, a drink made with the best of his abilities in honor of her." Wasn't his masterpiece supposed to use stuff from both worlds? How would he make it with the random stuff found at the bar?

C24: Why does he have so many arrows? I thought the base was basically out of weapons.

C26: "The arrow shot into the Mech’s knee joint center, a hulking Mech forged from steel, took an arrow to the knee and keeled over." I was a Mech Warrior like you once, until I took an arrow to the knee.

“Gu Qing Shan’s personal Merit total: 799,873,957,281,439 points” lol. I knew it would be high, but I was still expecting it to be a bit lower than this. After all, he only advanced things by a year or two. Is it even possible to spend that many merit points in a life time?

So, does Highest Leader make him the President, or just a very high ranking noble?

“I clearly saw him first, and they dared to steal him from me!” lol. Actually, they totally saw him first ;)

C28: I wonder how much experience he has as a matchmaker who can't just order people to marry ;)

That said, I wonder why they won't start dating. Both of them want to, and status is no longer a problem, but it'd be super strange from a meta perspective if they did.

C29: What makes them think that Impartial Goddess will let them keep their status after killing off the MC? Isn't maintaining order and eliminating those that disrupt it one of its core functions?

I wonder why he didn't use this chance to get his girlfriend admitted to the Military Academy too. She's the same major, right? So why not help her get into the superior school?

Shouldn't the government already be aware of the Apocalypse? It takes a while to setup a cover like The Game, even if we're only talking about advertising and hardware production and distribution. They should already be working on it even now.

"Confederate Military Academy Mobile Mech major, Special Professor" I was half expecting this given his contributions. I wonder how many classes he'll have to teach, and if he'll still have time to take classes on the side.

C30: [“Yeah, the last year of peace” Zhao Lu nodded in agreement.] Seriously, why would it be called that in the present?

"Heaven’s Limit Sect, Heaven’s Limit Saintess Ning Yue Xi, fell in battle on the 9th of June." And we have our next potential harem member. The only way she's not joining is if she's ugly, which would be very surprising.

“Pack up quickly, we have to leave now” Why bring the cook? He'll double the travel time at bare minimum while also vastly increasing the odds of getting spotted. It would be better to simply come back and rescue him after alerting the authorities to the plight of the two cultivators. Or was all this just to absolve the MC of blame when the cook dies?

C31: "Gu Qing Shan took the chance and showed a look of sadness." But not the chance to tell them that there was still one other survivor.

I wonder how long it'll take him to figure out that she's the second person he's supposed to save, and that they were likely killed in a joint venture by the demons and the humans.

That aside, I wonder if those two were in a relationship. If not (which seems likely since I'm still betting on her joining the harem), I wonder why they were sneaking around together. It's unlikely that they're blood relations since he wasn't aware of such a connection, and student/teacher seems unlikely since she wasn't a formations master.

C32: Why aren't they leaving? Any interrogation can wait. Those demons aren't likely to be gone for long.

C33: “Your cultivation is so low, it’s possible that something could happen to you, why aren’t you keeping it for yourself?” His cultivation being low is exactly the reason it should go to her. If something happens, she'll be much better equipped to deal with it than he would.

Um, I think she's forgetting the rather extreme difference here. He's not poisoned like that other guy was, and her being cured of poison will mean that 1) he won't have to carry her and 2) she'll be able to protect him. This is an extremely pragmatic decision and there's absolutely no need to get emotional about it.

C34: “You’ve been at the frontline since the start, in the Southwest stronghold, why did you decide to station 2 squads of 5-Elements spell users?” Um, wouldn't that be a state secret that he's not authorized to know?

C35: "successfully located Shen Wu world" I wonder if that's the MC's world and if this will push forward the release of the game. I kinda hope so, but it would be very surprising.

Considering how far her realm exceeds his, how would he even be able to use a bow that was suitable for her? Wouldn't his strength be far too low to even pull the string, much less knock an arrow?

That aside, I wonder how much the skills on it will cost to learn if it came from her father.

C36: If the bow is that good at concealing, then why didn't she use it to run away?

I wonder how many SP he'll get from this, and if he'll take the time to spend them mid-battle so that they aren't wasted. He could probably jump his cultivaiton level at least twice and learn a few skills from that bow with how much he'd be likely to get from this.

C37: “Defeated high-tiered monster: Grey Flame Serpent, gained 20 Soul Points, Current Soul Points: 21/7” Then what's the point of the upper limit? Or is this because he's in a special quest at the moment?

I hope he's smart enough to not use Bombardment in this fight. It'll be difficult to explain how he knows it to her.

That said, he should try to combine it with Rapid Fire, and possibly try to work Sharpshooter in with Shifting Flurry, assuming that new skills can still be added to Growth Skills.

C38: If he's worried about not being able to hang onto the SP, he should just ask the guy next to him for some formation plates. He can dump all his SP into becoming a formations master. He might even be able to incorporate formations into his arrows attack patterns to create illusions and whatnot along their flight paths or at their destinations.

C39: I hope he remembers to learn all those formation plates before they get destroyed.

I wonder why its so exaggerated when traveling between his own world and the game's world is so seemless and quick.

That aside, he should really use his resources in his original world to make arrows, armor, etc. to take back to the game's world. He's got basically infinite resources there. No reason to not abuse them.

"ever since he started designing the Blazing Angel, he’s been fighting nonstop for quite a long time." True, does he not need sleep anymore? He's been going for like 2-3 days straight without sleeping once, with most of that time spent on fighting tough battles.

Why didn't he immediately buy the next layer of cultivation? No real reason to wait, and (unless something has changed) he should have almost enough energy to make the breakthrough already if he does it.

C41: “Be assured, Impartial Goddess will not interfere with anybody’s right to love” lol

"removing from secret security observation” That's not a good thing. It'll probably make her easier to kidnap.

"Maybe it’s because I’ve become a person close to the President so she gives me special attention?" He's supposed to be the head of the worlds' defensive forces right? Or at least, one of them, yes? How does he not understand his own value?

lol, she's very lucky she remained professional ;)

C42: They do realize that he couldn't have even have gotten in there if he didn't have backing, right? They should at least verify who he is before trying to bully him. It's not like its even hard to do when every single one of them likely has a Holo-Brain capable of doing it for them within seconds. Heck, most of them should have had his picture handed to them by their families along with instructions to get to know him.

That aside, why didn't he just insist on an escrow service? This sort of thing is exactly what they exist for.

C43: "Free shooting for 1 minute and compare the scores at the end, whoever scored more wins” Did he not look at the MC's target? I doubt there are any places on it that were hit other than the bullseye. If he just wants to gift money to the MC, then there are better ways to do it.

"The manager looked at Gu Qing Shan and asked without hesitation" They should know his status. Unless the people who programmed the door are morons, they would have been notified the moment he walked in.

C46: lol. None of the women in his life like swords ;)

I wonder if he'll return it to her after he gets back. If so, then she'll be immortal. If not, then she'll likely die at some point.

C47: Invisibility wouldn't be enough to stop them attacking. They're not stupid enough for that to make sense.

“If we can get out of this dire situation, I will personally invite all the brothers here to join Yao Guang Sect, as our stewards” This feels like a death flag.

That aside, why hasn't he learned the formation in that plate? Or even checked the cost of learning it? If he could cast it without the plate, then he'd have one more trump card for life.

Ah, so that's why he didn't learn the formations. It was so that he could waste all his points on the sword, even though its clearly inferior to both formations and the bow, especially in their current situation.

C51: Why did he originally waste time learning two thousand sword styles? I sincerely doubt he even used most of them.

I wonder if he picked them to use, or to combine.

C53: I wonder if it'll ever occur to Leng Tian Xing to wonder why the MC didn't use this method while everyone was still alive. It would obviously have had a much higher chance of everyone making it alive.

I'm really not clear on what the difference is between storing his bow in his inventory and his sword in the wind. Can't either of them make the weapon appear or disappear at will? Except that storing in inventory is free while storing in the wind isn't.

C54: "Mountain Leveling Rush!" Didn't he already use the last of his qi with the secret arte?

That aside, its nice to see that he won't be allowed to keep a sword for some time.

I'm curious how many SP he got from this. Everything here is stronger than him, so he should have gotten all the SP from every kill. Though, the fact that he can kill higher level opponents so easily is itself quite stupid. Its like cultivation realms don't even actually matter at all.

C55: "in this world, without strength, without status, your words carry even less weight than the wind." I wonder how long it'll take him to realize who he's standing next to.

C56: "players were weaker than the cultivation world cultivators" If this was a universal truth, then why was he the one that killed the demon king? Why wasn't it a native?

"Xuanyuan Tianzun, Great Monk of Resentment, Bai Hua Fairy" Only one female. He'll definitely go to her and add another harem member.

C57: “Current Soul Points: 651/7” Honestly, that feels a bit low considering how much he was getting from those Bloodthirsters. Maybe its because his realm went up a couple of times since then?

Though, with that many points, he should absolutely learn all those formations he's got on him. But, at this point, I doubt he will. He just doesn't respect them enough.

I've been wondering this for a while now, but if this formation existed, then why didn't they use it to return instead of the demon king's throne?

C58: Fish are normally caught to be eaten, why would you use a poison weapon on it? Are you trying to kill the boatman?

C61: If its such an awesome formation, then why not see if he can learn it? I'm not sure if he has enough points or a high enough cultivation, but there's literally nothing stopping him from trying.

C63: In order for naming conventions to matter, they have to be known and enforced in some way. If they're not, then there's no reason that a Pristine style couldn't be lightning based. And if they are, then its something anyone would know, especially those at the top who are good enough to create such styles on a whim, like a Saint.

C64: I wonder why she didn't notice his rapidly increasing cultivation level and comment on it. It would be impossible to hide after viewing those memories, even if they were nothing but visuals.

C65: Aww, I was really hoping he wouldn't get even a semi-permenant sword for a long, long time. Swords are so overdone :(

So, which is it? Is it a sword that's never been used before and thus has no skills, or is it a Saint's old weapon and therefore should have at least a few, even if she never used it for anything but training?

That aside, if it really is such a divine weapon, why can't he get any skills from it? I mean, he can learn them from formation plates, so it should be possible. Or is his cultivation just too low for the skills to even show?

C66: If she's that sensitive to orphans, then why didn't she just open an orphanage? Its not like she'd lack for hands or resources to run it.

C67: "Gu Qing Shan couldn’t predict this at all." Really? I thought it was pretty much a foregone conclusion and have mostly been wondering what excuse he'd give her and us for why he'd turn down such a great offer. Honestly, the shocking bit is that he actually accepted, not because it's not a great offer, but because most MCs would have turned it down anyway.

“That bow belonged to Heaven’s Limit Saintess Ning Yue Xi correct?" Why would she even need to ask? She saw the saintess give it to him.

C68: If there was a beast saint, then why didn't it just attack itself? Especially once it sensed her coming?

"The strongest Saint in the world, doesn’t just have, but also actively use extremely fluent pickpocketing skills." lol

69: "Just what kind of spell would be able to make her disappear in front of all our eyes without a trace like that” Do they know about Flesh Incarnation or not? If they do, this is a stupid question. If they don't, then how did they use it to identify her?

That aside, why were they expecting her specifically to come? That many saints being there but not acting would only make sense if it was a trap for her, but they did everything in their power to keep her, or any other saint, from showing up.

C71: "When, will I also reach this height?" One year, if you're slacking off.

“You also agree? Then let’s go with that, she and I will use no powers, just our fists to determine who’s the winner” lol. I like the type of girl he attracts. Too bad he'll go for the boring one like every other protagonist ever.

“Confederate Highest Leader, Gu Qing Shan" I wonder if he'll still be able to convince himself that he's a nobody with almost no merit points left.

C72: Would the current Professionals even be strong enough to get near that thing? They haven't felt like they were even close to being strong enough so far.

"It was also then that the game came to them." Really? That doesn't feel like it matches the original story.

So, basically, "Individual strength means nothing, so I have to have as much of it as possible instead of concentrating on increasing the strength of everyone on the planet, even though I have everything necessary to do so!"? What a moron.

C73: "These are the ancient and famous Asimov’s Laws of Robotics, which laid the foundation for all later AI and robotics research." And which were shown repeatedly by Asimov himself to be heavily, one might even say, fatally flawed.

C75: And we have a new harem member. I should have known she'd join the moment she was called a goddess, or at the latest, when her projection was described as beautiful.

I'm surprised his merits didn't go up again after that addendum to the algorithm.

C76: Why are they trying so hard to kill her? Their job was to kidnap her.

“The Bloody Club is working here, who is it that wants to die?” What kind of assassin organization announces their name?

C77: I hope she didn't screw up the girl's breakthrough. They're quite difficult to come by (usually), and interrupting them can have dire consequences.

Why wouldn't the church know? That place is definitely under surveillance, and I don't doubt that the lords' who sent the assassins would turn the video over to the church to get them to kill her for them.

C78: "This change involves the world itself, how could he stop it alone? He can only deal with each step as they come." O, I don't know, maybe by helping the AI in front of you develop weapons that could amplify Professionals' powers? Or introducing qi cultivation to the world? Or telling the AI about the other world and proving its existence to her so that she could start analyzing whatever cultivation techniques and skills he brought back to quickly develop and test new ones?

Why does the author want to make assassins for hire out to be good people? They aren't. They kill for money, without caring who they kill or why. That inherently makes them bad people.

C79: If its in an orbital station, it's impossible for it to reach him before he reaches the ground without going so fast that it wouldn't be able to stop before smashing into the ground and turning itself into very small pieces of scrap metal deeply embedded in the crater. It gets even worse when you realize that, in order to catch him without killing him, it would have to arrive before he'd fallen more than 2-5 stories (this, based on him being a cultivator). Unless it has a warp drive built into it? Then it might be possible.

C80: I wonder how he dealt with the G-Forces' effects on the pilot, or if the author decided to ignore them.

"Then do I accept his proposal or not?"
"But then, what kind of wedding attire should I choose" lol. That escalated quickly ;)

“Get this footage to my son and daughter-in-law, tell them to watch it 100 times” lol. So petty. I love it.

C81: If each merit is 8k credits, then that 2k merits was a huge fortune. At least, I'm assuming so based on the fact that the rich people seemed to think a few hundred thousand was a lot of money.

"if one day, you can break through the 5th stage" weren't there only four known stages? Why isn't she commenting on this?

C82: "as well as the rest of them being girls" So what? Plenty of girls can drink plenty of men under the table.

C83: Has he slept at all in this series so far?

"so I believe your ranking will increase by at least one rank” I wonder if he's actually a member of the army. It'll be quite awkward if he's not, even more so if he has a family that he didn't know about.

"If you’re able to not learn the sword, then try not to learn it, ok?” lol. If only there was any chance at all of him following that advice.

I wonder how Sifu will react when she meets the girl he's actually interested in.

C84: I half expected her to be all of her other disciples.

"Gu Qing Shan felt a chill and quickly explained" Why would he feel a chill? Eating monsters was stated to be both normal and nutritious.

"This world doesn’t have any Space type, so Gu Qing Shan will have to find one after he returns to Reality." Isn't Reality almost completely devoid of monsters? So far, the only monster to show up is one that was far, far too strong for him to take on by himself, and was also the wrong type.

Why didn't he immediately slot the parts he had? Or will it auto-complete shortly after he slots the first part?

That aside, he should visit the library and find the cultivation techniques he's going to use going forward. He already has everything else he needs to establish a foundation, and I'm sure there's a "librarian" that can offer him advice on which one would be best for him. It will also let him know exactly how many SP he needs to set aside for cultivation before he blows them all on sword techniques.

First of all, I'd like to say almost everything you said here is 100% the reason why the first 200-300 chapters of the novel is mediocre trash, sometimes I really have to turn up my suspension of disbelief to 11 to enjoy it. But here are some explanations from me as the translator:

C1: Last Year of Peace. This is actually a translation mistake that i choose to include because it's easier to understand, and it's a rather insignificant detail that the author didn't ever bother to go back to or correct. The "Peace" in this is actually the name of the regime. Like how Japan recently went from the Heisei era to Reiwa era. Last Year of Peace actually means the last year of the Peace era.

C5: you should understand from later chapters, but the aristocratic system of this world is absolute tyranny. He was basically tried guilty without any trials or chance to redeem himself. And that's why most of the stuffs they do in the novel seems utterly ridiculous. They're literally too arrogant to be smart.

C17: actually, even IRL, only inventions made with a company's facility and resources will be considered theirs. He essentially only used the clan's mainframe to contact Impartial Goddess, the entire process of making the mech itself was done using a public facility that just happens to be in space, so tthe rights would still be his.

C42: they bullied him because he's alone, unlike everyone else there. And he considers himself dirt-poor, so he doesn't want to spend money to hire people to escort him, also right here, he's essentially going out for a morning jog, who knew that would invite trouble? (well us, but that's not fair to him)

C65: it's not a divine sword, it's a ceremonial sword. Just like how the sword that the Queen of English uses to knight people hasn't even been used to kill anyone, heck, it probably can't even if they want to.

C81: yes, 2000 is a lot, enough to build a Mech, so it makes sense. And no, it's been established that there are 5 stages for elementalists from the very beginning

C83: he slept about... 3 times? Or at least if you count his deep meditation as sleeping, if you know about Elves in DnD 5e, meditation here should work like how Elves take a Long Rest.
Yes he's in the military, its been established in chapter 1-2

Well, with that much space, he should be able to store his mechs there ;)

So, did that pile include a cultivation manual? If so, why didn't he look at it? If not, why not?

cultivation manuals are like scriptures or sth, usually they're in the Library, so I don't think it's in the pile( it was never really said).

Regarding storing in the Inventory Bag vs storing in the air. this is only my impression, but since the Bag is always hanging by his waist, he'll always have to move his hand there to take it out (the author REALLY likes to mention that people will tap their bags before taking things out), while storing in the air he could just randomly grab and the sword will be in his hand.

It's like the difference between always having a gun right next to your hand vs someone that have to reach into the holster during quick-draw.

Why didn't he just buy the parts from Impartial Goddess? He definitely has enough authority and merits to do so, and she clearly had some he could buy. Or has he already forgotten that that's an option? Or that every second counts for getting the best ability possible (if we ignore plot armor)?

“How miraculous, the 9 Lords still hasn’t been able to get their hands on your scientific research” Why is that anyway? Its not like they need to wait for him to die. They just have to override the ownership laws using the core directives. Or is Su's head blocking them in hopes that the rights will go to his clan when the MC marries into the family?

Why did he offer either of those things to the assassin organization? Money or merits would have been enough, and he has plenty of both. Or does he still not realize how much power he has with his rank as Highest Leader? Or even just his status as the only cultivator on the planet? Even if he's not strong enough to fight an elite army head on right now, he will be in a week or so at the latest. There's really no need to ally himself with an evil underground organization that primarily exists to help the very people he claims to hate hurt the very people he claims to want to protect.

I have a feeling I'm going to hate this entire arc, if for no other reason than that its completely unnecessary and all of his problems could have been solved much more quickly, much more easily, and likely with much better parts if he just had a brain inside his apparently empty head.

I wonder if he'll do something other than betting on 3 minutes and protecting the guy.

Actually he DID say that he doesn't fully trust Impartial Goddess, I have no idea why, considering what he's known up to this point.

Apparent the core protocols can't overwrite citizen ownership laws, since they had to kill that scientist from 30 years ago to get his tech after it became public domain.

And since he doesn't know about how Impartial Goddess is pretty much his harem member now, he chooses the next best guy he knows since he's reincarnated (he doesn't tell the president probably because he's busy dealing with the sea monsters). I personaly think he would trust the person that kill people for a living, because he's used to a life of "law of the jungle" where murder is pretty commonplace.

Plus, you gotta remember he's also a well-seasoned killer who made his way up from the very bottom of the rump. Unlike those teenager-type "heroes" that kill people without batting an eye while also condemning them for violating his sense of justice. His choices up till now has always been "I do this because i trust my sense of judgement", so him making a bad choice isn't surprising tbh.

I get that he doesn't trust her, but even then, she's still more trustworthy than the person he picked, and its not like she won't know everything he's doing in that casino. She's functionally omnipresent within the Confederacy.

They didn't kill him for his tech. Not really. They killed him because he wanted to become one of them. Unless the author doesn't understand the core directives that he wrote, there are no laws that the Nine can't overrule on a whim if they work together.

Honestly, that's even more reason to not trust them. Their trust is for sale.

Well, considering that he was a national leader who earned his position purely through hard work and personal merits, his judgement should be significantly better than this series so far has shown it to be.

I was really hoping I was wrong about how he'd win the bet. It was just too predictable.

"if the other party were to destroy the item, his Quest will be very hard to fully complete." Not really. It'd just force you to use your brain for 1-2 seconds and realize that you're wasting precious time on showing off at a casino when you could be buying the d**n parts from IG for far less than you're paying the casino.

Why did everyone think he was going to die? He's already shown that he can one shot the beast. That's not something someone weak could do.

“Space monster parts… There’s no research so far that shows their worth, just why does he want it so badly?” And this is another reason why he should have gone through IG. This is going to cause him more trouble, and for no legitimate reason whatsoever.

I figured she'd go all in on the MC living too.

On a side note, warp technology is a heavily guarded state secret, yes? So how come everyone and their brother seems to know about it now? Even if its only in the circles of the rich, its still way less secret than it was made out to be.

I don't think warp technology is a heavily guarded state secret, i think the only thing ever mentioned to be a state secret was the fact that they sent out a fleet with interstellar warp technology and found a space monster eating a planet. Things can still be kept secret without being completely secretive. For example, the fact that "warp technology and space monsters exist" isn't a secret, or it's an open secret, while the fact that "those monsters being so big that they could eat a whole planet" is kept top-secret. To be honest tho, the fact that 9 of the biggest and richest family in the world knows about it makes it already not that much a secret anymore( what's the point of stealing the tech for themselves if they can't profit in some way from it right?)

Honestly i also think going such a roundabout way to get space monster parts is stupid, the only possible reason i could think of that he wouldn't go to IG to buy it from her is because he doesn't want to waste time? They alway say that getting things on the black market is quicker than through official means. Just take the organ donation situation in our planet right now for example, people have to queue for years to get an organ replacement from official sources, while black market deals take a few months and a shitton of money.

It actually was said that it was a huge secret, but you're right. It has been 30 years and the Nine knew about it, but couldn't profit from it so word spreading isn't really that surprising.

If speed was the concern, then IG could have had the parts delivered to him at super sonic speeds within minutes of him filing the request. It's not like IG has to deal with anyone else or any form of bureaucracy that's not internal to herself. Once she's decided that he can have the parts, that's basically it. He can either have them wrapped up and shipped over under heavy but fast guard, or he can head over to that research institute and have them handed to him directly. I guarantee you that he'd already have his parts by now. Heck, he probably would have had them in less time than it took him to reach that research center with the assassin since he wouldn't have needed to waste time talking to the assassin or following the cat and could have simply taken the fastest possible transportation directly there while talking with IG and having the parts prepared for his arrival.

Probably. That and giving him another opportunity to show off. But honestly, I don't know why he'd need to do either. The harem winner is already set in stone and showing off to those people is basically pointless. If he wants anything from them, his merits, his status as the Highest Leader, or even just his status as the prospective husband for the current heir presumptive of the Su clan are all more than enough capital to do business with them. Honestly, the better informed among them should already be wracking their brains to figure out ways to create connections with him.

i really hope he skips the romance and sticks to pure battle, he keeps saying he has to prepare over and over lets see if he is going to waste time that could use getting ready, unless the author decides that getting the girl is the fastest way to get her clan support, for a supreme marshall that was used to do everything on his own he is too sloppy, no wonder they won the battle but lost the war

unfortunately, the author's impression of aristocratic clans that has survived for over 300 years is "dumb and outdated", so you'll see more braindead antics from madam Su very very soon.

Well i can tell you that the fast-paced "when the hell does he even sleep" action goes on for another thousand or so chapters, so romance isn't a major part of the plot.

I personally think this "a supreme marshall that was used to do everything on his own" is the real problem. Since he's been used to taking care of everything by himself, he is the typical "lone wolf that doesn't fully trust anyone" type of MC, and we all know just how "logically" they do things.

So, why did no one attack him to help the crocs? Or did they somehow realize that he wasn't going to die even before he struck the first croc and decided that they suddenly had enough brains to realize that antagonizing him was probably a bad idea?

If she's such a big shot in the Fuxi weapon industry, why doesn't he already know who she is? Fuxi was his home in his last life and, unless something happened to her fairly early on, he would have done a lot of business with her or her company. He should know who she is. Of course, given who his master is, there's no need for him to care at all, but he should still know.

Seriously, how did this plotline even make sense in the author's head? A Martial Eminence practitioner would have a well established reputation of power and a network of Martial Eminence grade sparing partners. There's absolutely no need whatsoever to pick on random people, nor any reason to expect them to be strong enough to display his power. This is so ridiculous I have trouble understanding just how high the author was when they wrote it.

"sir Gu Qing Shan had put in a total of 1 billion Confederate credits" He was betting merits, not credits. Also, this action by IG might sound awesome in the author's mind, but its a pointless waste of time that's just going to piss off the ME and make him determined to kill the MC, while simultaneously costing the MC the opportunity to strike first at close range. Unless the MC is going to whip out his bow and snipe the ME when he comes to attack, this is definitely worse than simply killing the SoB when he had the chance, which IG, as a super AI built for the primary purposes of governance and war, should absolutely know already.

I mean, this would make a limited amount of sense if she were to send out the government's MEs to enforce the surrender of the space monster parts and forcibly transfer the merits/credits from the MEs bank accounts (which she could absolutely do since she's in charge of the banks' security). Instead, she's chosen the route that's guaranteed to cause the most damage to the surrounding area, put the most innocents in harms way, and definitely kill at least one extremely valuable military asset, whether its the MC or the ME. Seriously, how has the Confederacy survived under her leadership for so long if this is the quality of her decisions?

He exchanged for the betting chips with Merit, but casino chips' value are usually determined through the currency that they can be exchanged into, you can't buy $1000 worth of chips and expect to be able to exchange them for 820 Pounds. I imagine it would be something like buying game money with real money, you can do whatever you want with the game money, even make more game money with it, but you won't make that turn back into real money without going through unofficial routes. Of course being the governing AI, she WOULD be able to open the back door for him, but it's suposedly an official trial so I doubt she'll do that.

And that's just it, she ISN'T the one leading the Confederate, she's just the AI that handles matters that people can't or would only be able to do after a very long time. That's why they have a President, a Presidential office, as well as a whole system of beauraucracy to make decisions and authorize her for whatever measures she suggests.

Also I disagree with you about her doing things this way being the wrong decision. Here's why:
+ IG would have footage of how ME and MC fights. She would be able to tell if one of them is much stronger than the other. She has no reason to believe that MC has grown too much stronger than he did when they last fought( which was when MC killed the hitman in his hotel room), which MC himself has said that he would be around Grandmaster level according to Reality's standard.
+ MEs are established to be expert at close combat, and they're standing literally only 1 table apart, on HIS turf (70 floors below ground). Not to mention since he's the one that's provoked them, he would absolutely be ready to strike back. MC has no element of surprise. If they had indeed fought, and MC were to not be able to win, he would very likely be unable to escape.
+ MC has only shown that he's good with the bow, he has barely even used his sword while in Reality, so IG would think that long-range is where his advantage is, thus this situation being very bad for him.

For the reasons above, if they fought, regardless if it's inside or outside, IG has every reason to believe that MC is the one that's at a disadvantage, that's why she waited until both MC and his partner to go outside before conducting the trial, where she would be able to provide support with military if necessary( which btw, is very necessary, considering a trial will need enforcers), unlike when they were 70 floors below ground.

Also, what makes you think that simply forcing the transfer of money from the ME's account to MC's won't make the ME determined to kill him; while a proper trial that explains clearly why that money needs to be transferred will?

The casino only accepted merits. Its therefore reasonable to assume that they paid out in merits. I'd also assume that merit trading is legal since there would otherwise be no way to sell them. After all, if they couldn't be legally traded, then that would mean that you could only give them to IG, who would have nothing to do with the black market. As such, requiring him to pay in the currency which he owed would only be sensible.

If she believed him to be too weak to win, then helping him to antagonize the ME, without sending her own MEs to protect him, would be even stupider. That said, she's seen him fight the crocs and could extrapolate from the level of effort required what his general combat power was at that time.

The MC has demonstrated on numerous occasions that he is an experienced fighter and (as far as IG knows) a genius. If he's willing to start the fight at close range, then it can be assumed that he believes he can win at close range, or that he has a good way to get to long range. He's also not alone, nor is there any reason for his new partner to not fight alongside the MC, assuming he's trustworthy. Not that any of that matters since her goal shouldn't be them fighting in the first place.

You forget that IG would have seen what he did to that Ace guy, as well as his much less impressive displays against the crocs. Though, again, she should be trying to avoid a scenario where this matters.

Actually, conducting the trial inside would have been a much better idea. She has phenomenal authority, and invoking that authority might have been enough to cow him and get him to offer a settlement to prevent things from escalating, or simply honor the one they'd already agreed on. He might not care about murdering some random rich guy he's never met before, but he'd certainly care about getting on IG's bad side.

I meant transferring the owed funds instead of having the MC pick apart his property portfolio in the most provocative way the MC could manage.

It seems that I should clarify. I'm not against the trial itself. I'm against the incredibly stupid way it was handled. Enforcing the law requires law enforcers, and she didn't send any, nor are there likely to be any strong enough in the area already. If there were, I'd assume that she'd have been intelligent enough to send them over already, though that might be thinking too highly of her.

I also think its important to reiterate that IG's priority here should be minimizing casualties period, with a heavy emphasis on preventing these two from killing each other and thus weakening the Confederacy as a whole. Instead, she seems to be doing everything in her power to maximize casualties while guaranteeing that at least one of them will die.

I disagree that conducting the trial inside being a good idea. Because a trial should always be conducted in an area where enforcers are ready to be deployed at any point to prevent casualty. Yes i'll agree that she did not fulfil this part competely, but it's done in a much safer place for the plaintiffs which are the MC and his friend than 70 stories underground.

Let's say the trial was done inside. If the ME truly fears IG and follow the trial obediently, that's fine. But in the case extreme case that he does not, and attempts to kill or threaten the MC and his friend, they won't have anywhere to run to, and not only will IG be unable to protect them both, she would also then have to prosecute the ME as well, a lose-lose situation for the country.

Before you say that the ME won't do that because he doesn't want to get on IG's bad side, you have to remember that the ME only see the MC and his friend as two random rich dudes who are cleally weaker than him. It has been established that MEs are tactical-level fighting strength, which means he knows he's able to get away with a lot of things simply because of how valuable he is - and he probably has, considering how he just sweeped over the fact that he owes them both a lot of money like that.

We know for a fact that MC is an extremely valuable asset and IG will be on his side, but the ME doesn't and believes otherwise, and misinformation can lead to a lapse of judgement.

I mean, the one doing the actual provocation is the MC since he wants to blow up the top floor, the transfer procedures would be exactly the same whether the MC picks the assets or IG forcefully transfer the funds over, losing 20 billion hurts either way. The ME would still resort to threatening or killing him regardless of what happens( he still hasn't lost anything and he was already threatening him, do you think he would stay still if it was forced?). Under the small chance that things get violent, them being outside or not doesn't affect the ME's reaction, but it will affect how safe they are, considering their distance from him.

Basically, I'm saying that a trial outside is better for their protection, all things considered.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much it matters. If IG had sent enforcers, then they could do the job almost as easily inside the casino as out. Since she didn't send them, and an ME can cover that distance in a heartbeat (almost literally), it just feels kinda pointless. Though, it may take him a second to find them if the MC doesn't attack.

That aside, it may not be her provoking the ME, but she's certainly not trying to stop the MC from doing so, and it is extremely obvious that he's doing so. It's also her that chose to try the ME in absentia, thus denying him a second chance to settle things peacefully. And its also her that didn't so much as hint at the MC's importance. All she'd have to do is refer to the MC as Highest Leader, and the ME, no matter how stupid, would realize that the MC was worth more to IG than he was, even if her direct interference in an affair that he's likely conducted many times before without interference wasn't already indication enough of the MCs importance for anyone with half a brain.
