Xena: Warrior Princess ran from 1995 to 2001, and remained in the top five syndicated drama series on American television for its entire rune. NBC has "confirmed" a reboot of the legendary Show. What do you think about it? Will it really happen? Should they ressurect the beheaded Xena make a true reboot or make a sequel? Should they use Lucy Lawless? Would the show be a shadow of his former glory?
That title brings in nostalgia. I'm happy that there's a reboot, but who are the cast? It'll be hard to rival the original cast, but I don't really want to see a sequel using the same actor. It'll only stretch out the story
I remember this show fondly, in the beginning. Later on, just like with Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, it started losing my interest as they made an effort to give an epic finale arc. That being said, part of me would like to see a reboot, of both to be honest. But, when you compare television shows at the time with television shows now, I'm not sure I really want a reboot or a sequel. Part of what made them good was that kind of campy feel. I'm not really sure Xena: Pretty Little Liars or Hercules: The Vampire Diaries would really make a good show. I guess they could try a contemporary version, Xena in modern times, but somehow I think that would end with her getting shot and the series ends in 5 episodes.
i agree that it's a gamble, if it doesn't live up to the original, its dead in the water, but actors usually take like a season to get into their role
It would be the cast and the story that would either make or break the series. Pray that it would be good.
I got no news from cast but rumors say: Grillo-Marxuach, who was part of the Emmy-winning drama win for Lost in 2004, will exec produce the Xena reboot alongside co-creator Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, who will oversee the NBC International Television Studios entry via their Ghost House Pictures banner. Sources tell THR that the reboot will follow a new, modern Xena, with the lead actress needing to have the charisma and charm of original star Lucy Lawless and the smarts of The Hunger Games' Katniss as producers are said to be looking for a sophisticated and smart superhero for a new generation. The potential series is being eyed for 2016. Lawless, who is married to Tapert, is not currently involved in the NBC reboot. But wish to be.
They should reboot Hercules as well, some of the best episodes was when both Xena and Herc kicked ass together
All I want to know is where is my Autolycus king of thieves and Joxer the mighty buddy comedy at? WHERE?!?!
