Discussion Back To The Beginning Of Ming To Do Charity

I've been waiting for Back To The Beginning Of Ming To Do Charity to finish updating, and I'm looking forward to reading it! Although it has the Shounen Ai tag, I gather it's relatively light on romance and mostly about the kingdom building.

For folks worried about the rape tag, I've checked the spoilers, and

When I imagine myself going back in time, I always imagine trying to make the world a little better, so I'm excited to see an MC who feels the same way!

So, I've found 2 novels with light BL, non focus romance, Back to Ming, and strategies to the throne.
I'm itching to read more BL with plot focus, wondering if the poster has any recommendations?

The first Ming emperor, Hongwu, was pretty interesting. Unlike other rulers, he came from peasant stock. He was a former monk, beggar, and rebel. I included a link in case anyone wants to learn more about him.

This is one of my favorite stories about him: Some time after he became emperor, Hongwu found out that one his concubines had cheated on him. He didn't want anyone to know that someone gave him a green hat (cuz that's embarrassing), so he killed EVERYONE in the harem. I've read Sha Po Lang, and other Priest's works long ago, I forgot to mention it, lol. Oh, I also forgot to mention her recent work, with completely no CP, Tai Sui.

The MC decides to go out to the forest to recruit people because he desperately needs people to help him build that wall. In the wilderness, the author introduced a servant girl named Yun Nui. There's only one other person from her village that's still around, her mistress who she calls Young Lady. The other villagers are other dead or separated from them. Young Lady is ill. The author hints that she was raped and was pregnant. Yun Nui has to sell her body in exchange for food. The men don't treat her well and try to take advantage of her. Both women are the first to volunteer to join MC's community.

I'm enjoying the history lesson. It's cool that this is a proper historical fiction instead of a "vaguely set in the past during some dynasty or another" that I see so often in these transmigration stories. I hope it's fairly accurate (though obviously it will change as MC gets more involved), but to be honest, I don't know the history well enough to tell the difference.

It's exciting to watch him slowly gathering people in need. I imagine that as an ancient person, working for a modern person who believes in human rights would be like a dream. Granted our MC isn't a saint, but he follows a Chinese philosophy of being a good person: gather good fortune through kind/charitable acts (Buddhism); repay virtue with virtue, and repay grievances directly (Confucianism).

Why am I not surprised that our MC is a history buff who loves the Romance of Three Kingdoms?

The plot is heating up! I actually don't even mind that we haven't met the ML yet. (Though I'm guessing it's the missing wagon driver/childhood friend who disappeared just before chapter 1.)
