soooo...this novel is BG (BG= Boy and Girl love) but it is small... ps. I am only at 100ch in but I know for sure it is BG because there is a man.

Yes, it is. I thought it has same author as "Sinister Ex-Girlfriend" when I first read how the male (nine young master?? forgot what his system called him) from a certain department but when I checked, it is actually from "Side Character Transmigrations: The Final Boss is No Joke"

I am at 100 chapters. Omg I really love this novel and mc. She is foodie , her love is only food. If someone touch her food, she will beat you black and blue. I really hope someone pick this novel. It's is funny, warm, humorous novel with shameless strong mc

 

Finished reading the entire story, so dumping some information here.

First, this is a BG romance story. The ML of the overall story however does not show up until Arc 3, and he doesn't start going after MC until Arc 5. ML is also a world hopper, though he and MC come from different origin worlds. Because of their different missions and their cautiousness as taskers, they don't fully get together until Arc 9.

The "MLs" of the first 2 arcs are both native to their worlds and not world hoppers; these guys were secret admirers of the MC's original host to begin with, and the butterfly effects of the MC taking over caused them to woo the MC where they did not in the original timeline.

Spoiler: ML's backstory

ML comes from a futuristic post-apocalypse world. Their world is a nexus point to many disturbances in space time, causing rifts that would dump lots of random things from other worlds into their world. This includes stuff like deadly plagues, monsters, etc. which caused disasters, and destroyed their civilization. The remaining people live in city bases, struggling to combat the various intrusions into their world.

When ML was young, he accompanied his parents to the site of a powerful artifact that was transmigrated into their world. They were attacked by mutant/zombie things. ML's mom died saving him, and then he somehow entered the artifact. Inside, he agreed to binding to the core of the artifact.

Later on, technology was derived from the artifact which created world hopping technology, and an organization was founded so that taskers using this technology would travel to worlds causing dimensional disturbances (usually caused by transmigrators or rebirths). The taskers usually have the goal of terminating these "bugs" or accomplishing some other job which would "fix" the world. The hope is that doing so would stop the incursions into their home world.

The administrator of the organization is ML's step brother (his father remarried, and I think the new wife came with a son already, so they're not blood related); the relationship between the step brothers is...complicated (but not like they want to kill the other or anything).

ML is just a normal tasker. His success rate is very low. Like, he's always on the bottom of performance ranking. But since he owns the artifact core, and because he's the brother of the boss, he can't get fired from the organization. At most, he's always broke when it comes to system points, so most worlds he has no golden fingers unlike the other taskers. ML's personality is very narcissistic though, and he's in denial about his abysmal track record at successfully accomplishing missions. His system is kinda resigned to him at this point.

Spoiler: MC's backstory

MC comes from a high level cultivation setting. She used to be a princess whose family was killed due to political intrigue (that story is in the extra chapters). She formed a contract with the Lifeforce of the World in order to get revenge, and she killed a lot of people. This contract is why she she likes to eat a lot; the Lifeforce is always hungry and they're both picky eaters. It's also why MC is not able to die; stabbing her in the heart will just allow her to channel the powers of the Lifeforce and become invincible.

(Also note: The pet MC gains in Arc 3 is an avatar of the Lifeforce. I think what happened was that the spirit beast of the egg she got died, so she injected a connection with the Lifeforce into the egg. She uses this spirit beast in subsequent worlds as a golden finger.)

Afterwards, she was the top prisoner in a confinement tower which held the most dangerous criminals of many subject worlds. Every thousand (or more?) years or so, this Revelation Tower experiences a period where the doors to the outside is weakened. During this time, the cultivators from outside would try to break in and find ways to steal powers from the prisoners inside, and sometimes powerful prisoners might break out and cause a lot of bloodshed.

When this happened, MC came to an agreement with the Revelation Tower. She would be given freedom, and in return she would help keep the bloodshed to a minimum during these times of weakness. Also, MC agreed that between these time periods, she would try to avoid killing whenever possible.

Afterwards, MC lived in a hidden mountain on the cultivation world. Her origins have been mostly forgotten by most, except for the emperor of the kingdom that she originally came from (actually 1/3 of the original empire since it fractured into 3 factions a long time ago).

MC often would go out incognito (not that most people would recognize her at this point) and have fun. One time, she accidentally ate the food offerings at some temple or other. And she was being chased by the followers when she was contacted by the System, who convinced her to sign up with it to escape the annoying flies chasing her, and to sample the cuisine from different worlds.

The mission given to MC by her system is to collect the hatred points of "fake protagonists" (ie. the transmigrators, rebirths, etc.), or sometimes groups of people. This is sometimes in conflict with ML's mission, which is to kill these bugs, and she would get mad at him if he kills her targets before she can get 100% of their hatred. Once she's gotten 100% however, she no longer cares about their fate.

Spoiler: MC & ML's relationship

In Arcs 3 & 4, the ML has a mission that is unrelated to MC. But because he interacted with her both times, his organization detected her as a possible recurring "bug".

So starting from Arc 5, he's given the mission of going after this bug, with the goal of either killing or seducing her. He quickly realizes that trying to kill her is impossible, so he keeps trying to woo her. At first, he was just acting to accomplish his mission, but eventually he also falls in love. Because his memories get wiped between each world hopping (he has to spend system points to keep memories and he has no points lol). So instead, he uses a self-hypnosis trigger to remind himself that he's chosen to love MC.

For her part, MC isn't stupid, and realized early on that ML is a world hopper trying to get close to her for some undetermined reason, so she resists him at first. But eventually she does come to like and even love him. However, MC always refuses to admit her love verbally (even after they started sleeping together and getting married every world), because apparently as long as she doesn't say out loud that she loves him, ML's mission is not considered completed.

In Arc 8 they get married (political marriage, sorta). In Arc 9 they first sleep together.

Starting from Arc 16, ML's organization starts to occasionally send in another tasker because it looked like ML was not getting anything done. However the 2nd tasker usually just becomes canon fodder when coming up against MC.

In Arc 37, MC returns to ML's original world with him (she appears in soul form). It turns out the villain boss was a prototype AI created by the ML's organization and then rebelled against them. It then created MC's system, which was using her to collect the energy of various worlds, so that the AI boss could access MC's world and try to take over the consciousness of the Revelation Tower. MC and ML team up to stop it, but in the process, some shards of ML's soul got scattered to the subject worlds. The arcs after that is MC going to various worlds to collect ML's soul shards, and incidentally also dealing with some of the escapees of the Tower that fled through the rifts.

 

So we have a ml, nice.
It looks great after finals I will try to mtl. World hopping novels still my favorite.

I actually like the ML of this story better than Feng Ci from Side Character Transmigrations by the same author. Feng Ci is just too passive for me. Next to Shi Sheng he's like a doormat, with very little agency, and Shi Sheng seems to like it like that.

By contrast, this ML (Qi Yu 祁御) is more proactive about things. He's got his own mission tasks and you can tell how much he makes an effort on them, though results may vary. He's also able to provide actual help to MC; even if she doesn't need it, it's the thought that counts.

We also get to see a lot more into his head in the story. ML is kinda obsessive about maintaining the characterization of the host (as opposed to MC who immediately starts going OOC as soon as she arrives). So a lot times we get hilarious interactions where ML is cursing up a storm and ready to kill on the inside, while still maintaining his act of being a weakling or stoic or whatever on the outside. It's kind of adorable.

MC is the heir of a healer sect, who got ordered around by an idiot antagonist of fakeFP due to a favor owed by her former master. ML is the leader of another sect, looking for a cure to his poison. They wreak havoc in the wilderness & city. MC gains her perma 7-colored pet. Eventually dies getting the last ingredient for ML's cure (she was bored and her mission was done).

4. 公主镇国 Princess Calming the Kingdom
MC is a priestess who can jinx events into happening with her words and thus respected by the emperor. The prince her host was friends with learned the truth about her replacement and blackened, ending up freeing the seal on demon spirits (妖). ML is the emperor’s brother who tries to help end the threat.

5. 丧尸笔记 Zombie Notes
Zombie apocalypse setting. MC is a general’s daughter. ML is a researcher; just started his kill or seduce task targeting MC, while MC is trying to get his hatred points. The fakeFP is a paranoid alien body snatcher posing as college girl.

6. 求娶千金 Wooing Rich Miss
MC is a rich girl moonlighting as an intern at MP’s company, helping fellow intern normal girl FP against rich miss fakeFP for her cooking. ML is her stepbrother and rival CEO to MP, who takes advantage of a car accident plot to fake amnesia and claim MC is his girlfriend. MC conspires with his enemies against ML.

7. 聚众修仙 Crowd Cultivation
MC is a new disciple at a cultivation sect, roadblocking fellow disciple fakeFP. ML is the lazy master of the alchemy peak who awkwardly tries to get close to MC. During advancement trials, MC displays control of the master sword, automatically making her the sword peak master. She is the only cultivator who doesn't cultivate, since she doesn't want to stick around in this world with an extended lifespan. MC learns ML’s true name, and he’s able to get her to 50% love.

8. 见习饲养 Probation Rearing
MC is a re-awoken vampire queen reduced to poor school student. ML is a vampire hunter who resents his family. MC uncovers the ancient conspiracy of the noble who betrayed her and framed her for causing the war. Vampires separate their own territory under MC, and ML ditches his job to become her consort (1st time marriage, no consummation).

9. 黑料网红 Black Material Web Popularity
MC is a streamer countering new streamer fakeFP from gaining fans at her expense. Gains hate points from society by doing vigilante streams of politically sensitive crimes. ML is a boss and secret cat slave, who keeps dumping his cat on MC. They have sex for 1st time.

10. 从良日常 Daily Good Deeds
MC is the leader of an “evil” guild of idiots trying to recover a stolen wuxia art manual that she practices. Turns out the manual is only half the art, and ML practices the other half.

11. 全职奸商 Server Mercenary
MC is a shrewd merchant in a MMO playing for money. ML is the bastard brother of MP who moves in next door to chase her. In prep for god vs demon factions update, the MMO makes MC the hidden demon boss, and she gets a following together to sweep the server.

12. 阴阳快递 Yingyang Delivery
MC is the manager of a department psychopomps in modern supernatural setting. Comes to Earth to prevent a dangerous ghost from gaining power at fakeFP’s hand. ML is an undying monster who was cursed and sealed using MC’s host coffin.

13. 仙尊别恙 How Are You Deity
MC is an elder goddess who previously spurned the suit of MP, and now goes against reborn dragon princess fakeFP who married him. ML is the heir of a magic isle who becomes MC’s disciple. (He starts getting self-hypnosis "memories" on his feelings for MC starting in this world.) They continuously stir up war between heaven and demon/yao realms.

14. 暗夜王冠 Crown of Dark Night
MC is a mafia boss who helps out (excellent cook) MP to regain his golden finger from reborn fakeMP, and funds MP’s tech company. ML is the mob boss of another city in the middle of housecleaning internal treachery, who keeps dropping by.

15. 桃花羡兮 Envious Peach Blossom
MC is a peach spirit in modern supernatural setting. ML is a squad leader of the government supernatural agency. MC builds a separate government for spirits (妖), and uncovers the experiments that humans have been doing on them in pursuit of immortality.

16. 吾皇承欢 Pleasing Your Majesty
Matriarchy setting. MC is the new empress whose mother started the dynasty, foiling the machinations of fakeFP minister trying to gain power. ML is the young emperor from the end of the last dynasty. Complications from a plague sent by unknown 2nd rival tasker.

17. 贵圈真乱 Your Circle is Messed Up
MC is a spoiled figurehead boss of media company. FakeFP is a transmigrant with grudge against MC and crush on MP (MC’s fiance). ML is an actor who just got out of an asylum. An unknown 2nd tasker pops out for a bomb run. MC bankrupts own company while unveiling purchase of most other media companies.

18. 绝地求生 Desperate Survival
MC is a participant in a murder survival game who builds a food bandit team to exploit all the loopholes. She eventually forces the system to submit to her demands (for food). ML is a high ranking player who crosses the final test bridge with MC on his back.

19. 轻若程归 Lightly Promised Return
MC is a long lost general’s daughter adopted by a semi-rich family in a small town, whose sister is book transmigrant fakeFP, trying to take advantage of her and transmigrant FP. ML is a playboy young master from the capital who comes to town to help MC regain her heritage.

MC was a silent bullied student at a rich school who turns out to have amnesia of her past where her guardian (ML) became obsessive over her. ML also moves in as a substitute teacher. MC helps the police uncover the long running crime ring operating from campus.

MC is a photography genius out to prevent reborn fakeFP from gaining fame due to a camera that can pull photos from the future. Some interaction with another tasker as movie star, who becomes stuck in that world.

22. 世子且好 The Heir is Well
MC is the wife of “retarded” prince ML. Gets involved in a treasure map hunt, foils fakeFP from getting together with the ambitious “crippled” prince MP. ML gives artifact trinket to MC before leaving, half is stolen by rival tasker, who fights MC, causes world to collapse.

23. 黎明猎杀 Morning Hunt
MC is a zombie empress who was getting used by book transmigrant fakeFP. Raises a following of human followers and advanced weapon using zombies. ML is a zombie controller.

24. 星际纪年 Interstellar Years
MC is the ruler of a space opera city world, who had a treasure stolen by lesbian fakeFP in her bid to bend FP. ML is an exiled young master who has unstable psi powers. MC goes dinosaur hunting (and BBQ) on Earth, wars against other star nations.

25. 剑破苍穹 Sword Breaking the Sky
MC is a demon cultivator framed by fakeFP for theft of a famed sword. ML is the dragon spirit of a more powerful sword, chooses MC as bearer, and frames her for more misdeeds. MC unseals the demons and make them help her find and kill the beast (妖) king.

26. 九零年代 Nineties Age [no ML]
MC is a sickly girl living alone in the country to recover. FakeFP is a reborn gold-digger trying to use MC to seduce MC's brother. MC ditches her, reveals corrupt housekeeper, and moves back to city for school. Befriends delinquent boy who has crush on her. Dies young after full life.

27. 见鬼神探 Ghost Seeing Detective
MC is a poor PI who is able to see ghosts and is obligated to help those that need it. She works with police, including hotshot detective ML. Finds out fakeFP is from a family of evil ghost controllers who killed MC’s dad for their art.

MC is the daughter of the wulin alliance leader and inherited the spot. Kicks out fakeFP and MP who are plotting against her. ML was a prince undercover as weakling servant in government plot. Conflict with rival tasker breaks ML’s world transfer tech for subsequent worlds (ML will have no memory of even his tasker status each time).

29. 兼职大神 Part Time Great Idol
MC plays a male character on VRMMO, and was defamed by fakeFP as being together with FP in order to keep her from MP. MC signs up with different company e-sports team, invites some eccentric friends from older games, and wins matches via maverick tactics. Also works in R&D for software company that ML owns.

30. 蔚然回风 Colorful Return
MC is a popular author smeared by fans of transmigrant fakeFP just for writing in the same genre. ML is the younger brother of a famous author, who also secretly writes porn-romance, and worms in as MC’s housemate.

31. 首领在上 Leader Above
MC is a were-peacock in beastman setting. Pulls a saber and seizes back control of the tribe, gets revenge on reborn fakeFP and her harem. ML is a guardian spirit (?) who goes around killing the “wicked”. Were-fox fakeFP also conspires with an evil spirit. Rival tasker shows up as a were-cat.

32. 蔷薇禁曲 Forbidden Song of Roses
MC is delinquent highborn vampire at a rich school. Reveals vampire fakeFP replaced human FP (& orphaned FP) to chase MP. ML keeps asking to be turned, turns out he’s a hybrid. Foils conspiracy to gather the saint weapons.

MC is the owner of a bar competing with fakeFP. ML is a rich heir run away to become a guitarist in a band hired to play there. FakeFP’s new boyfriend is the ex-BF of MC’s dead twin sister. Reveal family friend as the serial murderer who killed her sister.

MC insists on being a “normal” girl in a setting with a secret society of superpowered people. Gets revenge on ruthless “reborn” fakeFP. ML is a sickly young master whose power is too strong for his body. MC destroys a couple of superpower factions.

In a setting where people have lifespan marked on their wrists, society is divided up into the rich and poor zones. MC is a mob boss in the poor zone whose organization buys lifespan from the poor and sells to the rich. FP leads a revolution, in the crossfire ML regains memories.

37. 天启之道 Revelation Path
ML awakens back in his real life setting. MC follows him home in soul form. Villain boss is revealed as rogue AI that destroys ML’s world hopping agency. MC takes him back to her world where the AI tries to hack the Revelation Tower, and foils bid for power. Then goes on to retrieve shards of ML's soul that got scattered to the other worlds (ML will have no memory).

38. 逆光而行 Against the Light
MC is a popular actress whose roles were stolen and reputation smeared by mysterious foe (her step-sister). ML is a paparazzi, who ends up being MC's errand boy. Stepsister’s boyfriend is media company boss and Tower escapee.

39. 杀手至上 Assassin Supreme
MC is an orphaned girl duped by her uncle’s family, who turns around and kicks them out. ML is the leader of an assassins group, who gets hired by MC’s housekeeper to be her tutor.

40. 精灵侍主 Fairy Servant
MC is a mage driven into becoming a dark mage and hunted by her former family. Accidentally contracts with young elf (fairy?) prince ML; saves the fairy forest. Takes over as leader of the dark mages and renegotiates their relationship with the world.

41. 僵尸守则 Zombie Regulations
Modern supernatural setting. MC is a daoist whose school was slain (abetted by other sects); turned against and became outcast by other daoist sects. ML is an ancient zombie awoken from a nearby tomb and comes to live with her.

42. 人鱼传说 Mermaid Legend
Modern setting where humans are at war with mermaids. MC vs adopted sister (with habit of stealing all the men in host’s life, including her father). ML is a merman caught by illegal traders. MC helps him reclaim rulership of the mermaids. After a plague spreads, he performs a sacrificial rite with a treasure box to spread the cure.

43. 天降花神 Flower Goddess Descends
MC is a flower fairy who was framed by another flower goddess to be kicked from heaven. Gets plucked and raised by a not!demon ML. Wrecks the demon realm, and then later heavenly realm, to get dropped into primordial realm.

44. 终遇知叶 Final Encounter
MC is a talented jewelry designer used and blackmailed by supervisor to provide designs without credit. ML is her new mute landlord. Find out who’s behind the mysterious assassination attempts on MC.

45. 杀戮城市 Slaughter City
Setting is a murder survival game in a pocket world (actually virtual world) city. MC jailbreaks the game and breaks connection to outside world to reformat virtual world to a paradise. ML (and others with living bodies) got kicked back to living world, but chooses to die to get back.

46. 殿下娇宠 His Highess' Indulgence
MC is a failed assassin who gets caught up along with kidnapped crown prince ML. After coming to terms with the assassins guild, MC returns disguised as a servant girl and gets together with ML.

47. 万镜殊御 Ten Thousand Planes of Shu (MC) and Yu (ML)
Real Life arc back in MC's world. After returning his soul pieces, ML’s final (true?) form is revealed. But he gives it all up to be with MC.

48. 殊阳公主 Princess Zhuyang
Prologue: MC's mortal backstory as a princess chosen by fate, but then betrayed by political intrigue. After immediate family and BFF die horrifically, forms contract with the Lifeforce of the World to gain revenge. Becomes a monster and get imprisoned in the Revelation Tower.

Well, they were childhood friends and I think everyone thought of them as childhood sweethearts. But personally I never felt the romantic vibe between then. I thought MC looked to him as a brother rather than a boyfriend. But that might just be my interpretation.
