I like the second one better.

The first one is sparkly and pretty, but the second one is more visible when it's small in size. So I'm gradually leaning towards the 2nd one now

 

but I think first one catches the eye as it is shiny so many ppl will look

make a third version with first having the center pic having fading out opacity at its edges, thus blending in the background.
Will be perfection, because rn it looks out of place because background and foreground have vastly different colors and feel to them.

I like them both although I think the first one would be better if the box dimensions were a bit different

 

I think 2nd, if your not gonna redo the 1st pic

 

What would be the actual display size/ratio? The l/w ratio is really distracting...
Choice 1 evokes the "rain" aspect of the title more(?)
Choice 2 seems mundane, as if you just grabbed the background from somewhere, just adding on the words

And with both, you might want to play around with the alignment of the title and see how they look?

 

That's my reasoning as well. The second one is more simplistic and I like the clouds.

I don't know if that's good or bad, since the ML-FL relationship is more of a subplot. And the genre is crime/mystery.

I'm leaning more and more towards the second cover. It was the original cover anyway, before I changed it to the 1st one.

 

That's true. Since I post on several platforms, the size varies. I'll update the thread soon with final dimensions.
And ouch - that hurts, I tried to paint it well TuT . But it mainly hurts because that was exactly what I was thinking

I'll change the title alignment - it was messing with my eyes as well
