How censoring stupid related to any of this? Why is there no option to opt out of censorship? If the censorship is here to stay with no way out, then adblock goes back on.

Stop acting like an entitled brat. Like it or not, you did pay a penny to build Novelupdates and the advertisers did. And this is not censorship, just words getting bleeped out. There is a difference. Also, I hate to break it to you but ads from one person amounts to fractions of a penny. You won't be missed. You are simply an ingrate. It would be nice if the censorship was only applied to non-logged in users. That would keep Google's bots happy and de-uglify the site for everyone else.
Exactly. That is why I pointed out that the reading experience would be improved if this was not the case.
Can we get an option to opt-out/opt-in after login? People who come here from googling (and probably advertisers) would still see the censored version without an account, and we can manually set it so it doesn't censor if we don't want it to.
Like I said, it's the website that is censored as a whole. For as long as you're using the website, you'll be facing censorship be it you're registered or not. The censorship is applied on the website, not the visitors be they registered or unregistered. You still see advertisements whether you're logged in or or not, don't you? For as long as the advertisements are there, the censorship stays unless Tony gets other advertisers that doesn't require censorship.
I'm not sure why you keep emphatically repeating yourself even though it's not particularly related to what I said.
Because Tony would have to redesign the way censorship is handled and he's got better thing to do. And the real reason is that if an ad is being displayed to you, it probably sees the same stuff you do. So you can't hide content from an ad and see that same ad together with full content. I think. If you can provide evidence to the contrary, maybe then you'll be able to get somewhere with this idea. But I doubt it'd ever get implemented anyway. It'll probably be easier to make a greasemonkey script that uncensors the words in your browser.
Why did it get designed like this in the first place? It's just... not really thought out. Even "stupid" is being censored, bruh we're not ten-year-olds. edit: even the word "trash" is censored. A dialectal word for "garbage" is censored? what in hell are these advertisers up to?

Because the advertisers asked those words to be censored. Tony has no control over what the advertisers ask for, his choices are to either do what they want, or to find a new ad network. He chose the former.
